Job description

We're seeking a Maintenance Technician II who's ready to put your skills to work on projects that matter - and build a career with a company that's building North America.

Job Title: Maintenance Technician II   |   Req ID: 17210   |   HR Contact: Jonathan Stone   |   Location: Building Envelope - Jackson, MS

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Maintenance Technician II is an advanced technical role responsible for installing, repairing, and performing precision maintenance on complex manufacturing equipment. Beyond standard repairs, the Tech II serves as a technical lead and primary trainer for entry-level staff. This position requires experience in dielectric (Radio Frequency) welding equipment, PLC troubleshooting, and the ability to perform independent root-cause diagnostics to minimize production downtime and preserve proprietary technical knowledge.

WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH

  • Technical Leadership & Training: Actively train, mentor, and evaluate entry-level Maintenance Tech I personnel. Provide hands-on coaching regarding safety protocols, equipment operation, and specialized repair techniques.
  • Specialized Equipment Maintenance: Perform advanced troubleshooting, tuning, and precision repair of dielectric welding equipment and high-frequency generators.
  • Root Cause Diagnosis: Independently diagnose complex mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic failures. Identify underlying causes to implement permanent technical solutions rather than temporary fixes.
  • Precision Calibration: Execute high-tolerance installations and calibrations, ensuring all machinery operates within strict OEM and facility specifications.
  • Project Coordination: Lead small-scale maintenance projects and serve as the primary technical resource during "machine down" emergencies.
  • Systems Management: Utilize the CMMS (MaintainX) to document repairs, manage parts inventory, and assist in planning long-term preventative maintenance schedules.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure all maintenance activities comply with OSHA standards and company-specific safety protocols, acting as a safety lead for the maintenance team.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving, and adhering to health, safety, and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Education: high school diploma or General Education Degree (GED)

Field of Study Preferred: N/A

Required Work Experience: At least 4 years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment

Travel Requirements: N/A

Additional Requirements:

  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize-approved Personal Protection Equipment (PPE), including but not limited to respirators. Employees who are required to wear respirators must be clean-shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.

WHAT WE OFFER

  • Competitive Pay: $32.28/hour
  • Retirement Savings: Choose from 401(k) pre-tax and/or Roth after-tax savings
  • Employee Stock Purchase Plan
  • Medical, Dental, Disability, and Life Insurance
  • Holistic Health & Well-being programs
  • Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs) for health and dependent care
  • Vision and other Voluntary benefits and discounts
  • Paid time off & paid holidays
  • Paid Parental Leave (maternity & paternity)

Amrize is an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.

We thank all applicants for their interest; however, only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
