POSITION OVERVIEW:ย 
Tarter is seeking a dedicated and experienced Engineering / Manufacturing Project Manager to lead and oversee key projects across the company. This individual will be responsible for managing project timelines, resources, budgets, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure successful project completion. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, strategic thinking, and experience managing complex projects within a manufacturing environment. This position requires excellent communication skills, a commitment to high standards, and the ability to influence project outcomes positively across various teams.ย  (This is not an IT Project Manager role.)

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:ย 
Project Planning and Initiation:
  • Define project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with department heads and stakeholders.
  • Develop comprehensive project plans, outlining timelines, milestones, budgets, and resource requirements.
  • Establish clear project objectives and align them with Tarterโ€™s strategic goals and priorities.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments to ensure the project can be executed successfully within scope, budget, and timeline.

Project Execution and Coordination:
  • Lead cross-functional teams to deliver projects on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Oversee day-to-day management of project tasks, ensuring project milestones are met, and potential risks are mitigated.
  • Act as the central point of contact for all project-related communications and ensure all stakeholders are informed and updated.
  • Manage resource allocation, ensuring that team members are appropriately assigned tasks and resources are utilized efficiently.
  • Work closely with internal departments (e.g., Engineering, HR, Marketing, Finance) to ensure all aspects of the project are on track and meet quality standards.

Budget and Resource Management:
  • Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring that costs are controlled and within agreed parameters.
  • Track and report on project expenses, highlighting any variances from the approved budget.
  • Ensure that the required resources (personnel, equipment, materials) are available to meet project timelines and goals.

Risk Management and Problem Solving:
  • Proactively identify potential project risks and develop mitigation plans to address those risks.
  • Resolve project issues and challenges promptly by making effective decisions and involving relevant stakeholders.
  • Maintain flexibility in project management approaches and adjust plans as necessary to ensure successful project completion.

Quality Control and Standards Compliance:
  • Ensure that all projects comply with Tarterโ€™s operational standards, as well as industry regulations, including ISO 9001 (where applicable).
  • Maintain and enforce rigorous quality assurance protocols throughout the life cycle of each project.
  • Conduct project reviews and post-mortems to evaluate success and identify opportunities for improvement.

Stakeholder Engagement:
  • Regularly communicate project status updates, deliverables, and challenges to senior leadership and other key stakeholders.
  • Engage with external vendors, contractors, or other third-party partners, as needed, to facilitate project success.
  • Lead project meetings, ensuring a collaborative, solution-focused environment.

Project Closure and Documentation:
  • Ensure all project objectives are completed, and project results are documented for internal and external audits.
  • Facilitate project close-out activities, including final project reviews, evaluations, and lessons learned sessions.
  • Archive project documentation for future reference and knowledge sharing.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Education: Bachelorโ€™s Degree in Project Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field (Masterโ€™s preferred).
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of project management experience, with a demonstrated ability to manage large-scale projects in a manufacturing environment.
  • Certifications: Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred, or equivalent industry certifications (e.g., Lean Six Sigma, Scrum Master).
