ABOUT THE ROLE 
This position serves a key role within the Project Management team by providing comprehensive project coordination and administrative support to ensure the successful execution of heavy civil, road, and infrastructure projects across the Greater Vancouver Area. Working closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, Estimators, and field operations teams, the Project Coordinator supports day-to-day project activities, assists with scheduling and resource coordination, maintains project documentation, and contributes to the successful delivery of commercial, industrial, and civil transportation projects.The Project Coordinator also supports the implementation of consistent project processes and best practices across the project and operations teams. This includes assisting with process improvements, maintaining project coordination standards, participating in coordinator meetings, and collaborating with team members to promote effective communication, organization, and efficiency across projects. Depending on project size and complexity, the successful candidate may coordinate specific project activities on larger projects or manage the coordination of smaller projects under the direction and support of the Project Manager or department lead.

WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, consultants, owners, and project stakeholders to support successful project delivery and client satisfaction.
  • Support project kickoff activities, including scope review, pre-planning, scheduling, and coordination of required project documentation.
  • Support the coordination of  day-to-day project activities with Project Managers, Superintendents, field crews, and project support teams to ensure projects are delivered efficiently and effectively.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of project scope, specifications, drawings, schedules, and production requirements to support successful execution.
  • Coordinate project scheduling, site meetings, communications, and issue resolution with customers and third-party stakeholders.
  • Support project financial management by assisting with progress invoicing, accrual reporting, invoice reviews, cost tracking, and monthly job cost reviews.
  • Verify project quantities and progress through field reviews, surveys, and documentation to support accurate project reporting.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, reporting, and communication records to support effective decision-making and successful project execution.
  • Ensure project documentation, closeout requirements, handovers, and post-construction inspections are completed accurately and on schedule.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to improve project coordination, support operational goals, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas. Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Education: A Diploma or Degree. A combination of educational background along with skills / field experience will be considered. 
Field of Study Preferred: Civil Engineering or Civil Technology. 
Required Work Experience: Minimum 1-3 years project coordination, field supervisory experience is an asset. Experience coordinating projects valued $ 500,000 and above.
Required Training/Certifications: C.E.T designation or PMP is preferred.
Required Technical Skills: Understanding of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft project, Invarion Rapidplan, & Bluebeam.
Travel Requirements: 5%

Additional Requirements: 

  • Strong understanding of heavy Civil Infrastructure, Highway Interchange, Rail, Port, Industrial and Commercial roads, bridges, and civil construction and all other components including structural concrete, asphalt paving, sub-grade, gravel base course, concrete flatworks, construction and related subcontractor operations.
  • Successful candidates must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment ("PPE"), including but not limited to respirators. Employees that are required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face in order to pass the qualitative and quantitative fit tests.
