Position Overview

Position title: Lecturer

Salary range: Annual Salary Range $70,977-$199,722. Rank and salary commensurate with qualifications and experience. See table #15

Position Description

The UCLA Department of Architecture and Urban Design is creating a pool of candidates for the potential to teach courses in all areas of the department. Members of the pool would be called upon to teach lower division, upper division or graduate students during the 2026-27 academic years, as needed. The appointment is expected to begin either Fall 2026 instruction begins September 2026, Winter 2027 instruction begins January 2027 or Spring 2027 instruction begins March 2027.

UCLA AUD is well-recognized for its excellence in design, scholarship, and research. Degree programs in the department include a Bachelor of Arts in Architectural Studies (B.A.), a professional Master of Architecture (M.Arch.I), a post-professional Master of Architecture (M.Arch.II) in advanced architectural design and research, and a Master of Arts/Doctor of Philosophy in Architecture (M.A./Ph.D.).

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

This position is represented by the University Council – American Federation of Teachers

Internal applicants will be considered for reappointment prior to the consideration of external applicants.

Qualifications

Basic qualifications: A Master of Architecture degree or equivalent degree is a requirement and extensive professional experience.

Additional qualifications: Three years university level teaching experience preferred.
