Responsibilities

The Product Manager at Berkley Management Protection will support the development, enhancement, and execution of product strategy across the management liability product suite. This role will focus on product development, coverage innovation, product maintenance, underwriting enablement, and user experience improvements that drive profitable growth and operational excellence.

  • Support the development and execution of product and underwriting strategy.
  • Assist in the design, development, and implementation of new products, coverage enhancements, and endorsement solutions that address evolving market needs.
  • Support product filings and coordinate with legal, compliance, and regulatory stakeholders to facilitate timely implementation of product changes.
  • Monitor market trends, emerging risks, competitor activity, and industry developments to identify opportunities for product enhancement and portfolio growth.
  • Leverage portfolio performance, production, and market data to support product recommendations, business decisions, and strategic initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain underwriting training materials and product documentation to support operational efficiency and consistency.
  • Participate in product governance initiatives, including quality assurance reviews, audit standards, underwriting authority enhancements, and operational best practices.
  • Partner with underwriting, product management, operations, and technology teams to improve agent portal functionality, workflow efficiency, automation capabilities, and overall user experience.
  • Communicate product changes, market insights, and strategic initiatives effectively across the organization.
  • Minimum 10% travel required.
Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5+ years of Product Management, Product Development, Underwriting, or related insurance experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to support the development, enhancement, and management of insurance products and coverage solutions.
  • Strong project management, organizational, and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to evaluate data, identify trends, and develop actionable recommendations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication, presentation, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with underwriting, operations, technology, actuarial, legal, compliance, and distribution partners to deliver an exceptional product experience.
  • Valid driver’s license required.

Education Requirement

  • Bachelor’s degree in business management/administration, Mathematics, Finance, Risk Management, Actuarial Science or Economics.
