As part of a major transformation and growth agenda, HRM is seeking a COO with strong financial focus to join its executive leadership team. The assessment and diagnostic phase has been completed. The next challenge is execution: implementing a more integrated operating model, strengthening the firm’s operational and financial backbone, supporting strategic growth initiatives, and helping build a true One Team European organization.

Location

Preferably Brussels, Paris or Amsterdam, with regular travel across European offices.

Reporting Line

Reports directly to the CEO and works closely with ExCom, Managing Partners and Practice Leaders across the firm.

Mission of the Role

The COO will be the principal execution leader of HRM’s transformation program. Combining operational leadership, financial oversight and organizational development, the role is responsible for turning strategic priorities into measurable results while preserving the partnership culture and entrepreneurial spirit of the firm.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead implementation of the One Team operating model across offices, practices and support functions.
  • Strengthen governance, decision-making processes, accountability and execution discipline.
  • Oversee finance, controlling, treasury, reporting, IT, AI, HR and operational support services.
  • Improve management reporting, KPI dashboards and business intelligence capabilities.
  • Improve working capital, billing discipline, cash management and financial performance.
  • Lead ERP, finance systems, HRIS and operational technology transformation initiatives.
  • Build a professional management layer across support functions and enhance organizational effectiveness.
  • Drive change management across multiple jurisdictions and cultures.
  • Support AI adoption and operational innovation across business and support functions.
Profile
  • 15+ years of executive leadership experience.
  • Previous COO, CFO or equivalent leadership role.
  • Strong experience in professional services, law firms, consulting, accounting, advisory or partnership environments.
  • Demonstrated success leading complex transformation and integration programs.
  • Experience operating across multiple European jurisdictions and cultures.
  • Strong financial, operational and organizational management expertise.
  • Track record of implementing systems, reporting frameworks and scalable operating models.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills and credibility with senior professionals and partners.
  • Strategic thinker with a pragmatic, hands‑on execution mindset.
  • Ability to balance diplomacy, influence and accountability.
Languages

Fluent English required. Additional European languages (French, Dutch, Spanish and/or German) are a plus.
