Job description

Program Director

2026 Job Description

Reports to: Executive Director (Co Founder)

Location: Remote, ideally based in Houston, LA, Seattle, Chicago or New York: with some travel

Status: Full-time, exempt

Salary: $85,000 - $100,000 annually, depending on experience

Who We’re Looking For

At LeaderFlow, we are looking for the right person to come work with us, not for us, in advancing our mission.

The heart of our work is empowerment. We operate in an empowered environment where team members are trusted to recognize needs, take initiative, and help find solutions. As a small team doing big things, we rely on each other to step in, collaborate, and move work forward with care and accountability.

The Program Director will be the operational engine behind LeaderFlow’s program delivery. As the second member of our staff, you will work in close partnership with the Executive Director — not just executing our proven program framework, but evolving it, strengthening the systems and infrastructure that allow LeaderFlow to scale nationally without losing what makes our programs special.

This role is grounded in our four core points of our brand culture compass: Leadership, Connection, Growth, and Equity. You will show up as a steward of our mission, build meaningful relationships with participants and partners, help us grow thoughtfully, and operate as a true collaborator with shared ownership.

What a Work Day May Look Like

No two days at LeaderFlow look exactly the same — and that’s part of the work.

On a typical day, you might begin by reviewing the overall health of active cohorts across multiple cities — checking in with facilitators and city contacts, assessing risks, and making decisions that keep programs on track. You’ll manage timelines, steward relationships with regional partners, and ensure every touchpoint reflects LeaderFlow’s values and quality standards.

There will also be close collaboration with the Executive Director — aligning on program priorities, troubleshooting challenges, and sharing participant insights that inform both program refinement and fundraising storytelling.

You’ll also have opportunities to be present in the work directly: observing or co-facilitating sessions, attending alumni gatherings, and representing LeaderFlow in local markets as we expand into new cities.

Position Summary

LeaderFlow exists to accelerate diverse talent into leadership across the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) industry. As LeaderFlow scales nationally, the Program Director serves as the operational backbone of program delivery — ensuring that our leadership development programs run with consistency, quality, and care across all cities.

This role works closely with the Executive Director, who leads organizational strategy, external affairs and fundraising, to ensure that the program execution and organizational growth stay tightly aligned. The Program Director owns the day-to-day: participant experience, facilitator coordination, logistics, local partnerships, and cohort communications — while also bringing a leadership lens to how the program model grows and improves over time.

This is a hands-on, people-centered role for someone with directorial experience who is equally energized by strategic program thinking and the satisfaction of seeing a well-run program come to life.

Key Responsibilities

Program Delivery & Operations

● Manage day-to-day execution of LeaderFlow’s leadership development programs across all active cities (Houston, LA, Seattle, Chicago, New York) and new markets (Denver, and D.C./Atlanta in 2027).

● Serve as the primary point of contact for program participants throughout their cohort experience.

● Ensure fidelity to the LeaderFlow program model and playbook as the organization scales.

● Track program timelines, milestones, and deliverables to keep cohorts on schedule.

● Manage session logistics including scheduling, materials, technology, and venue coordination.

Facilitator & Partner Coordination

● Recruit, onboard, and maintain strong working relationships with facilitators and local program champions across all cities, building a high-performing facilitator network aligned to LeaderFlow’s framework and values.

● Ensure Flowcilitators are aligned with LeaderFlow’s framework, values, and quality standards across all markets.

Participant & Alumni Engagement

● Own the full participant experience across every cohort — managing communications, anticipating needs from application through cohort completion.

● Support alumni engagement efforts including continued learning opportunities, network-building, career milestones and ongoing community building.

● Build and oversee LeaderFlow’s program evaluation framework — designing data collection systems, analyzing cohort outcomes, and translating insights into continuous program improvement and organizational learning.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

● Partner closely with the Executive Director to align program execution with organizational strategy and fundraising priorities.

● Translate program data, participant outcomes, and cohort stories into  compelling impact narratives that support fundraising, communications, and funder reporting.

● Contribute to the development of new city launch plans and expansion playbooks.

● Support the ED in preparing for board presentations, partner meetings, and impact reporting as needed.

6–12 Month Expectations (Success Looks Like…)

● All active city cohorts running on time, on model, and with strong participant satisfaction — with a clear team structure and accountability systems with minimal ED involvement in day-to-day logistics.

● Key groundwork initiated for potential expansion cities (most likely Denver and D.C. or Atlanta), including facilitator identification, local partner outreach, and a city readiness plan.

● Clear, documented processes for onboarding facilitators and launching in new cities.

● Strong participant satisfaction and feedback scores.

● Program data and stories consistently flowing to the ED to support fundraising and communications.

Qualifications

Required

● 7+ years of experience in program management, program direction, or a related leadership role in a nonprofit or mission-driven environment.

● Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, timelines, and relationships simultaneously.

● Strong interpersonal and communication skills — you build trust quickly with diverse stakeholders.

● Comfort working in a small, entrepreneurial, fast-moving nonprofit environment.

● Ability to travel periodically to program cities for sessions, launches, and events.

Preferred

● Experience in leadership development, adult learning, or professional development programming.

● Familiarity with the AEC (architecture, engineering, construction) industry.

● Experience facilitating group conversations, workshops, or leadership development sessions.

● Proven experience scaling a program across multiple markets or regions, including designing the systems and infrastructure that support growth.

Why Join LeaderFlow

This is an opportunity to be the operational heart of a national leadership development organization committed to equity, belonging, and impact in the AEC industry. The Program Director will play a critical role in bringing our mission to life in cities across the country — working as a true partner in a values-driven, collaborative environment where your contributions are seen, valued, and integral to our growth.
