The Opportunity

As the Clinical Training & Development Manager, you will play a critical leadership role in developing and executing Vitra Health's training, onboarding, compliance education, and professional development programs. This role will support employee performance, regulatory compliance, workforce retention, and the delivery of high-quality, person-centered care.

The Clinical Training & Development Manager will partner closely with Clinical Leadership, Human Resources, Operations, and Executive Leadership to build a culture of continuous learning and professional growth while ensuring organizational readiness for regulatory and accreditation requirements.

This role will oversee the organization's Learning Management System (LMS), develop and deliver training programs, manage onboarding initiatives, monitor training compliance, and drive continuous improvement in employee learning and development outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Training Strategy

  • Lead the organization's onboarding, training, and professional development programs for clinical and non-clinical staff.
  • Develop and execute annual training and development strategies aligned with organizational goals, regulatory requirements, and workforce development initiatives.
  • Assess organizational training needs through performance data, employee feedback, operational trends, and collaboration with leadership.
  • Establish training effectiveness metrics and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance employee competency, performance, and engagement.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on adult learning principles, instructional design, and healthcare training best practices.
  • Supervise, mentor, and support trainers, designated instructors, and training facilitators, as applicable.

Onboarding & Employee Development

  • Oversee and continuously improve the employee onboarding experience from pre-hire through the first 90 days of employment.
  • Ensure all new hires complete required orientation, compliance training, and onboarding milestones in accordance with company, state, and federal requirements.
  • Partner with hiring managers and clinical leadership throughout the onboarding process to improve employee engagement, readiness, and retention.
  • Serve as the primary resource and escalation point for onboarding concerns, training needs, and employee development questions.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources, Recruitment, and IT to ensure a seamless onboarding experience, including new hire equipment, system access, and training readiness.
  • Develop learning pathways and professional development opportunities that support employee growth and organizational succession planning.

Clinical & Compliance Education

  • Lead training initiatives for Vitra Health's Electronic Health Record (EHR) platform and other clinical systems.
  • Develop, coordinate, and monitor mandatory and ongoing training programs in compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and licensing requirements, including:
    • HIPAA
    • OSHA
    • NCQA standards
    • Medication Administration
    • Person-Centered Care
    • Department of Human Services (DHS) requirements
    • Massachusetts and federal healthcare regulations
  • Monitor regulatory changes and update training programs, policies, and procedures accordingly.
  • Maintain organizational readiness for audits, surveys, licensing reviews, and accreditation inspections.
  • Ensure training documentation is complete, accurate, and audit-ready at all times.

Learning Management & Program Administration

  • Oversee the administration, optimization, and reporting of the Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Ensure accurate tracking of training participation, certifications, competencies, licensure requirements, and renewal deadlines.
  • Develop and maintain training curricula, competency assessments, manuals, guides, and multimedia learning materials.
  • Partner with subject matter experts, clinical leaders, and external vendors to design and deliver specialized training programs.
  • Manage the full lifecycle of the organization's training and development plan.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of all onboarding, training, and compliance-related activities.

Analytics & Operational Excellence

  • Develop and present training metrics, onboarding outcomes, compliance reports, and workforce development dashboards to leadership.
  • Analyze trends related to employee performance, training completion, retention, and compliance adherence.
  • Identify training gaps and implement corrective action plans to improve organizational effectiveness.
  • Develop and manage departmental budgets related to training programs, educational resources, technology platforms, and vendor partnerships.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements that enhance learning outcomes and operational efficiency.

Organizational Leadership

  • Foster culture of customer service and commitment to quality care.
  • Serve as a brand ambassador for Vitra reflecting our vision, mission, and values.
  • Show genuine interest and compassion for the communities we serve and commitment to the diversity of our clients and team members.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What we are looking for:

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Education, Organizational Development, Human Resources, or a related field is required; Master's degree preferred.
  • RN license preferred; other candidates with significant training and leadership experience will be considered.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in healthcare training, staff development, clinical education, learning and development, or a related field.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of leadership, supervisory, or program management experience required.
  • Experience managing compliance-based and state-regulated training programs required.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and workforce development practices.
  • Experience administering Learning Management Systems (LMS) and Electronic Health Record (EHR) platforms.
  • Strong facilitation, presentation, coaching, project management, and leadership skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, LMS platforms, and healthcare technology systems.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

  • Office-based work in a clean well-lit environment with fluctuating temperatures near others.
  • Client-facing field staff and community liaisons require frequent travel to client homes or community settings; ability to drive safely; work in client homes may involve varying temperatures, odors, allergens, pets, and other environmental factors.
  • Requires substantial periods of repetitive work utilizing a computer, monitor, keyboard, and mouse.
  • Requires lifting and carrying equipment and supplies weighing up to 35 pounds; requires pushing and pulling equipment and supplies weighing up to 35 pounds; requires walking and standing; requires frequent sitting more than 75% of the workday; requires the ability to negotiate stairs; requires visual acuity and manual dexterity to operate equipment.
