Job description

Position Title: Staff Engineer
Location: Miami Office - In-office with occasional travel to other sites
Job Type:Full-Time
Salary Range:$65,000 - $95,000 annually

Work Hours:Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM

Position Overview

TheStaff Engineeris responsible for following the direction of the team leader of a project, creating design plans utilizing AutoCAD Civil 3D, preparing permitting applications, developing engineering calculations, and monitor project schedules. The project engineer will be provided with a budget for hours for each project and is expected to manage their time to meet the budgeted hours. The Project Engineer will take directions for the project team leader, engineer of record, and direct supervisor.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist Engineering Team in preparing schedules and budgets.
  • Under the guidance of a more seasoned engineer, develop and prepare engineering design plans (blueprints).
  • Under the guidance of a more seasoned engineer, develop and prepare specifications for the projects.
  • Under the guidance of a more seasoned engineer, ensure the project's compliance with the applicable codes, practices, policies, performance standards, and specifications
  • Participate in weekly progress meetings and update team leader on project progress.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Associate's degree in engineering (Civil, Environmental, Mechanical or Structural).
  • Understanding of permitting procedure for specific engineering discipline.
  • Understanding of regulatory requirements and administrative code for specific engineering discipline.
  • Advanced knowledge in the use of AutoCAD Civil 3D required.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Exceptional organizational skills.
  • Exceptional communication skills.
  • A minimum of one (1) year experience in the field of engineering, designing, or construction.

Technical Skills:

  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Microsoft Projects (Preferred)
  • AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • ICPR (Preferred)

Preferred Certifications:

  • Engineer Intern Certificate

Soft Skills:
