Job description

The Controller is responsible for overseeing all financial and accounting operations for BYOT Auto Parts. This role ensures accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and strategic financial support to leadership. The Controller will manage day-to-day accounting functions while helping guide the company's financial health and growth.

Financial Management & Reporting

- Oversee preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements

- Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with accounting standards

- Analyze financial performance and provide insights to leadership

- Manage general ledger, reconciliations, and closing processes

Budgeting & Forecasting

- Lead annual budgeting process across all locations

- Monitor financial performance against budget

- Provide forecasts and recommendations for cost control and growth

Internal Controls & Compliance

- Develop and maintain strong internal controls

- Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and policies

- Oversee audits and coordinate with external auditors

- Identify and mitigate financial risks

Accounts Payable & Receivable Oversight

- Oversee AP/AR processes to ensure accuracy and efficiency

- Monitor cash flow and working capital

- Ensure timely collections and vendor payments

Payroll & Benefits Coordination

- Oversee payroll accuracy and reporting

- Partner with HR on benefits-related financial processes

- Ensure compliance with tax and reporting requirements

Strategic Support

- Partner with leadership on business decisions and growth initiatives

- Support system implementations and process improvements

- Provide financial insight for expansion, acquisitions, or new locations

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

- 5+ years of accounting/finance experience (multi-location preferred)

- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting

- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis

- Advanced Excel and accounting systems proficiency

- Strong communication and problem-solving skills

Preferred Experience

- Experience in automotive, retail, or multi-location operations

- CPA or CPA-eligible preferred

- Experience with ERP or accounting system migrations
