Job description

Organizational Location: This position is with the Department of Homeland Security, within U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Office of Trade, Mission Readiness Directorate, Human Capital Division, located in Washington, DC.
Additional selections may be made to include other organizational divisions and/or units within the duty location(s) listed above.Qualifications:Experience: You qualify for the GS-14 grade level if you possess 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as:
  • Providing oversight and analysis of programs and policies related to human resources staffing and workforce management, including analysis and recommendations for improvement in areas of staffing, classification, organization structure, and data and trend analysis.
  • Developing and analyzing comprehensive hiring plans based on projected turnover, losses, and program changes, and provide analytical data reporting for all supported offices to capture employment levels and trends.
  • Serving in an advisory capacity to management officials on a wide range of analytical and programmatic workforce management functions. Developing and recommending improvements in services, leading teams and/or projects in the redesigning, automating, and re-engineering of processes in order to meet the varied and changing requirements.
  • Performing with a high degree of independence in the administration of workforce management functions on behalf of senior management.

  • Meet all qualification requirements, including education if applicable to this position, subject to verification at any stage of the application process; and
  • Meet all applicable Time in Grade requirements (current federal employees must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade or equivalent grade band in the federal service) by 09/10/2026.

Residency: There is a residency requirement for all applicants not currently employed by CBP.
