Job description

Hourly Pay Range:
$19.31 - $28.00 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.
Position Highlights:
  • Position: Laboratory Assistant II - Per Diem
  • Location: Glenbrook Hospital
  • Full Time/Part Time: Per Diem
  • Hours: Monday-Friday, 6:30am-3pm, e/o weekend and rotating holidays

What you will do:
  • Position is also responsible for ordering tests into the Laboratory and Hospital (LIS/HIS) computer systems and documenting lab receipt of specimen
  • Processing of various laboratory specimens.
  • Receive and scan patient samples into the Laboratory Information System
  • Centrifuge, aliquot, prepare and deliver specimens for testing either by the in-house laboratory and/or outside reference laboratory (where applicable).
  • Perform specimen tracking, packaging and order and result entry of specimens.

  • Education: High School Diploma
  • Certification: None
  • Experience: For Lab Assistant I candidates, demonstrated competency and proficiency in all Lab Assistant I job responsibilities. For external candidates, one (1) year of experience in a comparable healthcare setting
  • Unique or Preferred Skills: Laboratory, medical, biological and data entry preferred.
