Job Description

In this role, you’ll support and lead a wide range of traffic, safety, and multimodal transportation projects across the region, contributing to both project delivery and business development efforts. Key responsibilities include: Serve as Task Manager or Project Engineer on multiple work orders; support proposals and project staffing. Perform traffic simulation and capacity analyses using Synchro/SimTraffic, VISSIM, HCS, and SIDRA. Conduct safety analyses using HSM methodologies and Safe System principles. Support multimodal and transit analyses and planning studies. Prepare corridor studies, PEL studies, and Needs & Deficiencies assessments. Develop Functional Design Reports and Preliminary Engineering Reports. Support Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) planning and design. Address community traffic engineering and safety issues. Provide peer review of traffic studies prepared by other consultants. Design traffic signals and signal systems, including plans, specifications, and cost estimates.


Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Civil, Transportation, or Structural Engineering or related discipline. Certification as an Engineer in Training (EIT) or passing the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam in states where an EIT is not obtainable (within 18 months of hire or promotion or transfer). 5 years of related experience. Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands. Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
Preferred Qualifications
VISSIM modeling experience.Technical expertise in transportation engineering and planning, including traffic engineering, multimodal transportation planning, and transportation systems analysis.Experience leading and managing large-scale transportation projects and ensuring project deliverables meet quality standards and project requirements.Strong analytical skills and experience using transportation data to inform decision-making and develop innovative solutions to transportation challenges.Familiarity with preparing traffic signal design and traffic control plans using Microstation, AutoCAD, SignCAD, and AutoTURN.Knowledge of commonly used computer software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).Certification as a Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE).Experience working with local, state, or federal transportation agencies.#LI-MS1#LI-HYBRID

Expert Knowledge of computer assisted design and drafting (CADD) 3D and 4D software and practices. Expert Knowledge of engineer principles of design. Expert Knowledge of Microsoft business software (excel, word, etc.). Excellent verbal and written communications skills. Strong knowledge of federal, state and local regulations. Basic knowledge of design standards (AASHTO, NACTO, etc.).
