As a Software Development Engineer at Micron, you will play a pivotal role in configuring, developing, maintaining, and supporting both Micron and third-party applications. This opportunity is unique because you will be at the forefront of technological advancements, ensuring our software solutions are world-class and flawless. You will collaborate with passionate teams, use innovative technologies, and contribute to creating exceptional business value.
Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and support tool automation: Partner with automation developers, tool owners, and domain experts to implement host improvements, support automation initiatives, and optimize system performance. Coordinate requirements, testing, tool scheduling, and deployment activities while providing expertise in GeRM, ET, and Sigma environments. Support global automation alignment across 300mm fabs, troubleshoot and resolve automation issues, maintain process documentation, and provide regular project status updates to leadership.

  • Provide automation software support and integration: Collaborate with software development teams to define requirements, test and validate software releases, and develop training materials for new enhancements. Support manufacturing applications and MES-related systems, drive software resiliency initiatives, ensure alignment with worldwide automation standards, and provide ongoing troubleshooting, reporting, and 24x7 support for critical software issues and customer concerns.

  • Show dedication to accuracy, efficiency, and continuous improvement by organizing and prioritizing work effectively. Keep updated on automation system changes. Recognize dependencies and potential risks. Act to prevent downtime and product impact. Use new knowledge and skills in daily tasks. Ensure detailed documentation and handoffs for smooth team support. Maintain a focused and productive environment while delivering quality results.

  • Drive improvements and enhancements: Exhibit strong problem-solving and technical expertise by finding opportunities to reduce errors, recommending process improvements, and supporting implementation efforts. Maintain accurate and timely documentation, effectively resolve software issues, and address problems with urgency. Continuously expand knowledge of new systems and processes while demonstrating a solid understanding of existing software tools to drive operational excellence.

  • Align with company/department policies: Demonstrate dedication to safety, accountability, and operational excellence. Maintain a clean and safe work environment, follow all company safety procedures, and promptly identify and report hazards. Consistently meet attendance expectations, manage multiple priorities effectively, follow through on commitments, and actively participate in team activities. Exhibit initiative, teamwork, and responsibility while safely operating equipment, adhering to established work practices, and supporting overall team success.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or master's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field with 5+ years of enterprise software development, implementation, and support experience.

  • Strong technical expertise in Python or Perl scripting, SQL development, software architecture, and the software development lifecycle (SDLC).

  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments, including software testing and quality assurance practices.

  • Hands-on experience working with AI tools, along with solid analytical, problem-solving, and written/verbal communication abilities.

  • Intellectual curiosity and enthusiasm for refining workflows, especially by applying AI tools to increase efficiency and outcomes.

  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with DevOps tools such as GitHub.

  • Experience with continuous monitoring tools like Splunk.

  • Understanding of ITIL Incident, Release, Change, and Problem Management practices.
