Description

We are seeking Software Engineers to support a range of mission-critical programs. Candidates will contribute to the full lifecycle development, deployment, operations, and maintenance of complex software systems in secure Linux environments. Roles span software development, DevOps/automation, data engineering, and infrastructure sustainment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, deploy, document, and maintain complex and diverse software systems based on documented requirements
  • Develop and sustain automation tools supporting infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and system sustainment for High-Performance Computing (HPC) environments
  • Create, manage, and troubleshoot complex operational data flows including data storage, transport, management, security, and compliance
  • Perform full lifecycle ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) system development and operations & maintenance
  • Integrate software into new or modified systems and operating environments
  • Develop and execute test procedures; resolve software problem reports
  • Collaborate with system and hardware engineers to derive requirements and support interface design
  • Contribute to or lead Agile development teams as appropriate
  • Recommend and implement new technologies, processes, and improvements to software development standards

Software Engineering candidates have experience working in team environments, building software solutions for customers, and are looking to take their careers to the next level. Familiarity with the following tech stacks below is great but not a requirement.


Technical Skills


Operating Systems & Scripting

  • Linux CLI and system administration (service management, configuration, provisioning, storage, networking)
  • Bash and Python scripting for process automation

Software Development

  • Python and Java development (recent, hands-on experience)
  • Software development using C, C++, Ruby, Perl, or JavaScript

DevOps & CI/CD

  • CI/CD principles and tools including GitLab CI, Jenkins, and/or Bamboo
  • Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Ansible
  • Git source control management including branching strategies and team collaboration

Containerization & Orchestration

  • Docker, containerd, and/or Podman
  • Kubernetes and Helm Charts for containerized service deployment

Data Engineering & Big Data

  • Apache NiFi for real-time and batch data workflow processing and distribution
  • Apache Spark for distributed Big Data processing
  • Data parsing and transformation with JSON, XML, CSV, Parquet, and other formats
  • Messaging frameworks including ActiveMQ (ITX), RabbitMQ, and/or Kafka
  • NoSQL databases (MongoDB); SQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB)

Monitoring & Observability

  • Prometheus and Grafana for system monitoring and metrics
  • Distributed logging tools including ElasticStack

Automation Frameworks

  • Ansible for orchestration and deployment automation
  • Automated testing frameworks (TDD, BDD)

Other

  • Atlassian Tool Suite (Jira, Confluence)
  • Kubernetes/Docker Compose orchestration for containerized services
  • Apache Airflow for workflow orchestration and scheduling
  • Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, or SAFe methodologies
  • Datacenter Infrastructure Management (DCIM) tools such as Netbox
  • Secret management tools such as HashiCorp Vault
  • Identity and Access Management (IAM) solutions such as Keycloak
  • Jupyter Notebook environment deployment and management
  • Rust programming (or willingness to learn)
  • HPC job scheduling tools such as Slurm
  • Splunk for observability and analytics
