Compensation: $42-$78 per hour
1. Overview
We are seeking experienced music producers, audio engineers, and mixing professionals to contribute to a research project focused on evaluating and improving generative AI music models.
As a Music Production Expert - Norwegian, you will assess AI-generated music across a broad range of genres and evaluate outputs against detailed quality standards. Your professional expertise will help assess musicality, creativity, production quality, vocal performance, genre characteristics, and adherence to creative prompts.
Candidates should have professional experience in music production or audio engineering, strong critical-listening skills, and native or near-native proficiency in Norwegian.
Requirements
2. Key Responsibilities
  • Compare AI-generated songs side-by-side and evaluate them based on:
    • Musicality
    • Creativity
    • Prompt adherence
    • Vocal quality
    • Production quality
    • Mixing quality
    • Overall listening experience
  • Label and classify songs according to genre, structure, instrumentation, vocal characteristics, and other relevant musical attributes.
  • Evaluate AI-generated lyrics and vocal performances against reference material for quality, accuracy, and consistency.
  • Identify production issues such as problematic mixing, balance, dynamics, distortion, artifacts, or unnatural vocal characteristics.
  • Apply structured evaluation criteria consistently across different musical styles and genres.
  • Provide clear and accurate feedback explaining the strengths and weaknesses of AI-generated music.
  • Use professional critical-listening skills to identify subtle musical and technical differences between outputs.
3. Core Qualifications
  • Native or near-native proficiency in Norwegian.
  • Ability to read and follow detailed written instructions in English.
  • 2+ years of professional experience as a:
    • Music Producer
    • Audio Engineer
    • Mixing Engineer
    • Music professional in a related production discipline
  • Strong understanding of music production, recording, arrangement, mixing, and audio quality.
  • Excellent critical-listening skills and the ability to identify subtle differences in musical and production quality.
  • Strong familiarity with contemporary Norwegian music and musical culture.
  • Access to headphones or studio monitors suitable for professional critical listening.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to provide consistent, objective evaluations.
4. Nice to Have
  • Formal education or training in music production, performance, music theory, composition, or audio engineering.
  • Credited or commercially released production, engineering, or mixing work.
  • Experience working across multiple musical genres and production styles.
  • Broad familiarity with contemporary Norwegian genres, sub-genres, and artists.
  • Previous experience evaluating AI-generated music, audio, lyrics, or other creative content.
  • Experience working with structured evaluation frameworks or quality-rating systems.
5. Project Details
