What is a professional QMS implementation?

A Professional QMS (Quality Management System) Implementation refers to the process of systematically establishing and integrating quality management practices within an organization, typically aligned with recognized standards like ISO 9001. Professionals in this role analyze current processes, identify gaps, develop policies and procedures, train staff, and ensure continuous improvement to meet quality objectives. The goal is to enhance product or service quality, improve customer satisfaction, and ensure regulatory compliance. Successful implementation often involves change management, documentation, and ongoing monitoring to sustain quality outcomes.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a professional QMS implementation specialist?

To excel as a Professional QMS Implementation Specialist, you need a strong understanding of quality management principles, relevant industry standards (such as ISO 9001), and often a bachelor's degree in a related field. Familiarity with QMS software platforms, documentation systems, and certifications like ISO 9001 Lead Auditor are commonly required. Excellent project management, problem-solving, and communication skills set standout professionals apart in this role. These competencies are vital for ensuring effective system rollout, regulatory compliance, and continuous organizational improvement.

What is the difference between Professional Qms Implementation vs Quality Assurance Specialist?

Professional Qms Implementation focuses on establishing and customizing quality management systems within organizations, ensuring compliance and process integration. In contrast, a Quality Assurance Specialist primarily monitors and audits existing processes to maintain quality standards. Both roles require similar certifications but differ in scope and daily responsibilities.

What are some common challenges faced during the implementation of a quality management system, and how can professionals address them?

Professionals implementing a QMS often encounter challenges such as resistance to change, lack of employee engagement, and difficulty aligning new processes with existing workflows. To address these, it's crucial to communicate the benefits of the QMS clearly, involve staff at all levels early in the process, and provide ongoing training and support. Collaboration with cross-functional teams and regular feedback sessions can also help smooth the transition and ensure successful adoption of the QMS.

Its mission is to bring fast, affordable broadband to unserved and underserved communities around the world. Amazon LEO will help close the digital divide by delivering fast, affordable broadband to a wide range of customers, including consumers, businesses, government agencies, and other organizations operating in places without reliable connectivity.
We're seeking an exceptional Software Quality Engineering Manager who will drive innovation and excellence in aviation terminal software development. In this pivotal role, you'll be the strategic architect of software quality management, solving complex technical challenges and ensuring software development rigor that meets the highest aviation standards, including compliance with AS9115 (Quality Management Systems - Requirements for Aviation, Space and Defense Organizations - Deliverable Software). You will be directly responsible for establishing and maintaining the software quality assurance framework governing the design, development, verification, and deployment of deliverable software for the aircraft unit, phased array based antenna system that closes the link to carry aircraft data to and from a LEO satellite. This includes overseeing software development lifecycle processes, configuration management, formal verification and validation (V&V), and ensuring traceability from requirements through testing in accordance with AS9115 and its parent standard AS9100.
You may also be responsible for software quality oversight supporting the aircraft certification of embedded software and systems modifications needed to install and operate the antenna system, ensuring compliance with requirements approved by the certifying authority (FAA/EASA) commonly referred to as the Supplemental Type Certificate (STC). This includes managing software change control processes, independent verification and validation (IV&V) activities, and ensuring all deliverable software meets the stringent documentation, review, and quality assurance requirements mandated by AS9115 for the aviation, space, and defense industry.
Export Control Requirement:
Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Key job responsibilities
Key Job Responsibilities
• Establish and maintain a software quality management system (QMS) compliant with AS9115 for aviation terminal deliverable software development, ensuring adherence to AS9100 parent standard requirements
• Lead software quality engineering teams across the full development lifecycle, including requirements management, design reviews, code inspections, and formal verification and validation (V&V)
• Develop and implement software quality control methodologies, including static/dynamic analysis, automated testing frameworks, and defect trend analysis to ensure software integrity and airworthiness
• Drive continuous improvement through software process measurement, root cause investigations, and corrective action implementations in coordination with software development and systems engineering teams
• Manage software configuration management, change control, and baseline integrity across concurrent development and release cycles
• Support FAA/EASA certification activities, including management of software documentation packages required for Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) compliance
• Oversee supplier software quality assessments and ensure flow-down of AS9115 QMS requirements to subcontracted software development partners
• Lead internal audits, peer reviews, and milestone readiness assessments to ensure software release quality and continued airworthiness compliance

You'll work across software development, systems engineering, and certification teams, translating airworthiness requirements into robust processes governed by AS9115. You'll transform compliance challenges into opportunities for continuous improvement.

We're a collaborative group of innovative engineers and technical program manager professionals dedicated to delivering exceptional technical solutions.
