Job Summary:
Responsible for overseeing all aspects of quality management within the manufacturing process for industrial air compressors and related components. This includes managing quality assurance (QA) processes, ensuring products meet or exceed all applicable regulatory standards and customer expectations, leading a team of quality professionals, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to maintain and enhance product quality. The Quality Assurance Manager will collaborate closely with production, engineering, and supply chain teams to maintain high-quality standards across all stages of procurement, storage, and production. This role has responsibility for quality oversight across both the Centralia production facility and the Corporate Quality team.
Essential Job Duties
  • Lead and manage the QA / QC team in the development, implementation, and execution of the RMC Quality Management System.
  • Enforce current RMC build standards; industry best practices; and customer, regulatory, and statutory requirements.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Operations, and Supply Chain teams to ensure product quality is maintained throughout design, vendor selection, purchasing, storage, production, and testing.
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Production teams to develop inspection and testing requirements and documentation.
  • Develop and implement quality policies, standards, processes, and procedures to direct quality related activities.
  • Lead root-cause analysis for quality issues to identify containment, corrective, and preventative actions.
  • Develop and report quality key performance indicators (KPIs) to management and key stakeholders.
  • Lead regular audits to maintain and continually improve product quality and process efficiency.
  • Review NCRs, warranty, inspection, completed rework records, and customer feedback to identify potential quality risk trends.
  • Ensure systems are in place to communicate RMC quality expectations to suppliers, evaluate and monitor supplier quality performance, and identify and minimize potential supply chain risks.
  • Foster a collaborative, data-driven, results-oriented environment.

Additional Duties
  • Facilitate Factory Acceptance Testing.
  • Communicate with internal and external customers regarding current RMC quality standards and practices.
  • Address quality related questions from RMC staff.
  • Work with customers to address quality concerns.
  • Develop and implement project QA / QC plans as to meet customer and/or installation specific requirements.
  • Perform regular performance reviews for the QA / QC staff, providing feedback, and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Mentor QA / QC staff to develop their individual skills.
  • This position provides leadership over both the Centralia and Corporate Quality teams and requires periodic travel between locations to ensure consistent quality standards, team alignment, and operational effectiveness.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or higher degree in business management, engineering, manufacturing, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • 5 years' experience in quality assurance / quality control in a manufacturing environment.
  • 3 years' previous management/leadership experience.
  • Experience with various RCA methods and CAPA implementation.
  • Ability to read/interpret mechanical & electrical drawings.
  • Computer proficiency (Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Strong communication skills (oral & written).
  • Effective problem-solving and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to work with employees at varying skill and knowledge levels.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects, prioritize tasks effectively, and switch tasks frequently.

Preferred Skills
  • Experience with ISO compliance, certification, and/or implementation.
  • Previous QMS implementation experience.
  • Previous experience with Lean 6 Sigma Manufacturing best practices, certification preferred.
  • Familiarity with vacuum and compressed air systems.
  • Familiarity with diesel driven equipment.
  • Familiarity with NEC and NFPA regulations and requirements.
  • Familiarity with CSA or UL requirements.
  • Mechanical/electrical/PLC troubleshooting.

Physical Demands
  • Must be able to occasionally lift up-to 25 lbs. unaided.
  • Extended periods of time sitting at desk / computer.
  • Ability to move safely through an office and production areas.
  • Ability to occasionally bend, reach, and kneel to perform inspections.
