We are seeking a Texas-licensed Professional Engineer (PE) to support and lead Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) deliverables for linear infrastructure, power, and utility projects across Texas. This role is ideal for a PE who can review, validate, and seal engineering-related components of SUE work products and coordinate closely with survey, field crews, and project managers.
A current Texas PE license is required. We will consider recent graduates who have already obtained their Texas PE. We are also open to hiring a Texas PE without prior SUE experience and providing training for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide engineering oversight for SUE projects and deliverables, including QA/QC.
  • Review, validate, and seal applicable SUE-related work products in accordance with client and project requirements.
  • Coordinate with internal field crews, survey staff, and project managers to ensure quality, schedule, and scope alignment.
  • Support utility coordination efforts, including communication with clients and utility stakeholders.
  • Help implement and improve internal standards, checklists, and workflows for SUE deliverables.
Required Qualifications
  • Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of Texas (required).

  • Ability to review technical deliverables, identify risk, and maintain quality standards.
  • Strong communication skills and comfort working across field and office teams.
  • Organized, deadline-driven, and responsive in a project environment.
Preferred Qualifications (Not Required)
  • Prior experience with SUE deliverables and/or utility designation practices.
  • Familiarity with linear infrastructure, electric T&D, municipal utilities, or similar projects.
  • Experience with CAD/GIS workflows or utility mapping deliverables.
  • Knowledge of SUE standards and quality level frameworks (e.g., ASCE 38).
Training Opportunity
If you are a Texas-licensed PE who has not worked directly in SUE, we can provide training and mentorship. We are primarily looking for a candidate with strong engineering judgment, accountability, and the ability to lead quality deliverables in coordination with field and production teams.
