Job description

Position Summary:

The HVAC Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems. This role requires a detail-oriented individual who can work independently and as a part of a team to ensure optimal performance of HVAC systems in residential and commercial properties.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Install, inspect, and maintain HVAC systems including air conditioners, furnaces, ventilation systems, and refrigeration units
  • Diagnose mechanical, plumbing and electrical issues and perform necessary repairs
  • Conduct routine maintenance checks, filter replacements, and refrigerant levels, and lubricating moving parts
  • Handle emergency repairs promptly and efficiently
  • Read blueprints and technical diagrams to understand HVAC layouts
  • Ensure systems comply with local and federal HVAC codes and regulations
  • Calibrate controls and thermostats for optimal performance
  • Provide accurate documentation of work performed and parts used on company’s CRM system
  • Communicate effectively with clients and team members regarding job status and recommendations
  • Adherence to all Federal & State safety requirements, including but not limited to the Company’s safety programs and policies
  • Understanding of manual J, Airflow Charts & Refrigerant scales.

Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Completion of an HVAC training program or apprenticeship
  • Valid HVAC license or certification
  • 2+ years proven experience as an HVAC technician preferred
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, tools, and repair techniques
  • Ability to read schematics and blueprints
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Strong understanding of plumbing and electrical

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50-75 pounds frequently
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl
  • Ability to work in confined spaces, attics, basements, and on rooftops
  • Must be able to work in extreme temperatures, including hot mechanical rooms or cold outdoor conditions
  • Use of hand and power tools for extended periods
  • Frequent bending, reaching, and twisting during equipment or maintenance installation
  • Work may be performed in residential, commercial, or industrial environments
  • Exposure to dust, noise, hazardous materials, mechanical/electrical equipment
  • May require overtime, weekends, holidays, or on-call shifts depending on workload and emergencies
