About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Network Engineer to join a growing IT services team supporting enterprise, education, and data center environments. This is a hands-on role responsible for designing, implementing, troubleshooting, and optimizing complex network infrastructures for a variety of client environments. The ideal candidate is passionate about networking technologies, enjoys solving challenging technical issues, and thrives in a customer-focused consulting environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and support enterprise network infrastructure including routing, switching, wireless, and security solutions.
  • Troubleshoot complex network performance and connectivity issues across LAN, WAN, and data center environments.
  • Configure and maintain Cisco networking equipment including routers, switches, wireless controllers, and firewalls.
  • Deploy and support advanced networking technologies including BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, QoS, MPLS, VPN, VXLAN, and vPC.
  • Implement and support wireless networking solutions, primarily Cisco and Meraki platforms.
  • Perform network upgrades, migrations, and infrastructure modernization projects.
  • Configure and maintain firewall solutions including Cisco ASA and Firepower.
  • Assist with network monitoring, performance optimization, and capacity planning.
  • Create and maintain detailed technical documentation, network diagrams, and implementation guides.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and clients to develop scalable, secure, and reliable network solutions.
  • Provide technical expertise during project planning, deployment, and post-implementation support.
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism while working directly with clients and business stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience supporting enterprise network environments.
  • Strong experience with Cisco networking technologies including routing, switching, wireless, and security.
  • Experience configuring and supporting:
    • Cisco IOS, IOS XE, NX-OS, and Meraki
    • BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP
    • MPLS, VPN, IPSec, and SSL VPN
    • Cisco ASA and Firepower firewalls
    • Layer 2 and Layer 3 QoS
  • Experience with advanced switching technologies such as VSS, vPC, OTV, and VXLAN.
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills in complex enterprise environments.
  • Experience with network monitoring and management platforms.
  • Ability to create professional network documentation using Microsoft Visio or similar tools.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CCNA certification required (or willingness to obtain shortly after hire).
  • CCNP certification preferred.
  • Experience working for a Managed Service Provider (MSP), technology integrator, or professional services organization.
  • Knowledge of Cisco DNA Center, Cisco ISE, Cisco Prime, or Cisco ACS.
  • Experience supporting enterprise wireless deployments.
  • Familiarity with data center networking technologies.
  • Experience working in secure or regulated customer environments.
