Orthodontic Assistant

Job Description

Assist the orthodontist during a variety of procedures, including banding, debanding, placing/removing arch wires, and Invisalign attachment placement
Take digital dental x-rays, iTero scans, IO and EO photographs, and make Essix retainers and separators
Deliver and instruct patients on the use and care of orthodontic appliances
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and provide post-treatment care instructions
Maintain accurate, paperless patient records (Dolphin Management) in compliance with HIPAA regulations
Utilize 3D scanners and X-ray equipment to capture precise patient data
Support the dental team in providing exceptional patient care and a welcoming environment
Manage appointment scheduling and assist with front office/admin duties as needed

Salary Range

Full-time $20 - $30 per hour

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday: 7:45 AM – 5:15 PM
Friday: 12:00 PM – 5:00 PM

Requirements
  • Cardiopulmonary resuscitation

Minimum 1 year of orthodontic assisting experience (required)
CPR certification (required)
Excellent customer service, communication, and teamwork abilities
Detail-oriented, reliable, and enthusiastic about professional development

Preferences
  • Registered dental assistant / Certified dental assistant
  • iTero

Certified Dental Assistant or Registered Dental Assistant credentials (preferred)
Experience with Invisalign, iTero scanner, and making Essix retainers (preferred)
Strong documentation and computer skills; experience with Dolphin Management software (a plus)
