Job Description
Teledyne Microwave Solutions is hiring a Quality Inspector to perform all aspects of In-process, Final and Receiving Inspection of TMS products using a variety of standard inspection tools. Receiving Inspection products may include but are not limited to printed circuit board assemblies, a wide variety of piece parts, housings, covers, and chemicals In-process inspection work may include, but is not limited to piece parts, hybrid microcircuits; and PCBAs. Final product inspection for mechanical measurements First Article Inspections (FAI) reports.
What you'll do
  • Review documentation, inspect the product to ensure compliance with Teledyne Customer requirements
  • Inspect parts, sub-assemblies, and final products for conformance to specifications
  • Work with Quality Engineering and Manufacturing regarding the reporting of quality discrepancies
  • Other duties, projects, and tasks assigned

What you need
  • U.S. Citizen (required)
  • Comfortable using a variety of measurement tools - calipers, micrometers, pin gages, optical comparator
  • Able to multitask, willing to learn and cross-train in multiple areas (Incoming, In-process, / Final QA)
  • Able to learn a wide range of product inspections
  • Comfortable and able to work with a diverse workforce
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent work habits -- responsible, organized, attention to detail
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 5-7 years of directly related experience or certified to J-STD-001 or IPC-A-610; if not already certified, ability to become IPC-A-610 certified at CIS level
  • 3 - 5 years' experience performing inspections to MIL-STD-883, Methods 2010, 2017, 2032 or documents based on these criteria. It is acceptable to have experience using other inspection criteria
  • Experience using low and high-power microscopes
  • Hands-on experience with any type of Nonconformance Report system, to create and update Nonconformance Reports. (Agile, Arena, TIPQA, TeamCenter...)
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams; (Production, Inventory, Engineering, Planning)
  • Proficiency with standard MS Office software - Outlook (email), Excel, Word

Additional / Preferred Qualifications
  • Current or prior security clearance a plus (able to be renewed)
  • IPC-A-610 and/or J-STD-001 certified inspector
  • J-STD-001 - Space addendum, (a plus)
  • Experience with AS9102 FAIR, First Article Inspection Report
