What is professional drop shipping?

Professional drop shipping is a business model where an individual or company sells products online without keeping any inventory. Instead, when a customer places an order, the seller purchases the item from a third-party supplier, who then ships it directly to the customer. Professional drop shippers focus on building efficient supply chains, optimizing product listings, and providing quality customer service to build a reputable and profitable business. This approach allows entrepreneurs to start an online store with lower upfront costs and less risk compared to traditional retail models.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a professional drop shipper, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Professional Drop Shipper, you need strong knowledge of e-commerce, supply chain management, and market research, with experience in online retail platforms like Shopify or WooCommerce. Familiarity with digital marketing tools, inventory management systems, and analytics platforms such as Google Analytics is typically required. Outstanding soft skills include adaptability, customer service orientation, and problem-solving abilities to manage relationships with suppliers and customers. These competencies ensure efficient operations, effective marketing, and high customer satisfaction in a dynamic, competitive online marketplace.

What are some common challenges faced by professionals in drop shipping, and how can they be overcome?

Professionals in drop shipping often encounter challenges such as supplier reliability, inventory management, and maintaining customer satisfaction. Since you typically don't handle inventory directly, it's crucial to partner with trustworthy suppliers to avoid delays or errors in order fulfillment. Communication and regular performance monitoring can help mitigate these risks. Additionally, providing clear product information and responsive customer service helps build trust and manage expectations, which is essential for long-term success in this fast-paced and competitive industry.

Job description

The company
Since 1888, Certina has embodied precision you can trust. Founded in Grenchen, Switzerland, the brand has built its reputation on reliability, robustness and Swiss Made craftsmanship. Every Certina watch is engineered to withstand the challenges of everyday life and beyond.
At the heart of this commitment lies the legendary DS (Double Security) Concept, introduced in 1959. This groundbreaking innovation redefined standards of shock and water resistance, making Certina a benchmark for durability and dependability. Continuously refined over the decades, the concept reached a new milestone in 2025 with the introduction of the DS Concept Extreme Shock Resistance, further enhancing the resilience of the DS Action collection.
For more than 135 years, Certina has proven its reliability from mountain summits to the ocean depths, and through every challenge in between. Built for certainty and crafted for life, every Certina watch is a trusted companion you can always count on.
Since 2021, Certina has also been actively involved in the world of padel and remains closely connected to cross-country skiing as Official Timekeeper of the FIS Cross-Country World Cup and Ski Classics. Ambassadors such as Ebba Andersson perfectly reflect the brand's values of endurance, precision and performance.
Sea turtles have been a powerful symbol of Certina's values of resilience and endurance since 1959 - the year both the DS Concept and the Sea Turtle Conservancy (STC) were founded. Through its support of the Tour de Turtles project, the brand actively contributes to marine conservation and helps raise awareness about the importance of protecting our oceans.
