Job description

Make a difference in the lives of New York City's residents and communities. For over 60 years PSS has performed vital and important work -- through its ten centers and affiliated programs. The agency touches the lives of over 2,000 people each day. As the Community Social Worker, you will be responsible for coordinating supportive services for older adults in one of the many communities that PSS serves. The driver's role is vital in ensuring that transportation is provided to allow our members to remain mobile and engaged in their communities.
This is a part-time non-exempt position that reports directly to the Catering Manager.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Pickup meals and items to and from PSS various centers.
  • Responsible the safe transportation of PSS property.
  • Keep and maintain and clean/ sanitary vehicle.
  • Bring meals and necessary items inside PSS various centers.
  • Assist in the packaging of meals.
  • Assist in providing janitorial services at our catering facility, including but not limited to sweeping, mopping, dishes and stocking of items.
  • Providing and collecting necessary paperwork across PSS various centers.
  • Complete and provide mileage log and timesheets to supervisor.
  • Assist with programming as needed.
  • Comply with PSS Personnel Policy & DFTA Regulations.
  • Attend Supervision and Team Meetings when applicable.
  • Communicate with supervisor and other staff in a timely fashion and meet all required deadlines.
  • Actively pursue and take full advantage of opportunities for professional growth and development. Follow and subscribe to professional development resources (i.e. e-newsletters, professional social media, national aging websites, etc.)
  • Additional duties as directed by Supervisor

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
  • High School Diploma
  • Experience working with Older Adults preferred
  • Excellent Interpersonal Skills
  • A valid NYS Driver's License
  • Three years driving experience
  • Bilingual fluency (English/Spanish) desirable
