Route Driver – Box Truck (Local / Morning Shift)

$22.00 - 24.00 per hour | Monday – Friday | 5:00 AM – 12:00 PM

CERO Cooperative, Inc., a Boston-based, worker-owned cooperative, is seeking a responsible, professional Driver to join our growing organic waste collection team. This is a local driving opportunity with a consistent morning schedule and the unique chance to become a worker-owner.
Job Summary

The ideal candidate is safety-focused, reliable, and experienced in commercial truck operation. This is a physically active role that involves both driving a 16'–26' box truck and manually handling food waste collection containers.
Compensation & Schedule

  • Starting Pay: $22.00 – $24.00 per hour
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday, 5:00 AM to 12:00 PM

Responsibilities

  • Vehicle Operation: Safely operate a box truck on designated urban routes to collect organic waste.
  • Physical Collection: Load and unload food waste containers.
  • Inspections: Conduct daily pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections (fluids, tires, safety equipment, etc.).
  • Navigation: Follow assigned routes using a routing app and maintain accurate service logs.
  • Professionalism: Maintain a courteous demeanor with customers and adhere to all local, state, and federal driving laws.
  • Maintenance: Perform basic preventative maintenance and report any mechanical issues promptly.
Qualifications

  • License: Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience directly related to commercial driving and route service.
  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with GPS systems, routing apps, and basic truck components for inspections.
