Trailside Elementary School is seeking candidates for a Literacy Coach.
Position Summary: Serves as the Literacy Coach in an elementary school building to provide support for students and classroom teachers in all content areas in order to ensure the most effective methods, techniques, strategies and interventions are used in delivering curriculum to all students.
  1. Provide ongoing support to teachers in all content areas that are ground in research-based practices in order to positively impact students.
  2. Provide introductory training and support to teachers new to curriculum, programs, and pedagogy.
  3. Plan, develop and facilitate collaborative Professional Learning Community meetings and professional development opportunities that are centered on appropriate and effective instructional strategies.
  4. Model and/or co-teach lessons with teachers and provide opportunities for collaboration.
  5. Provide teachers with tools, materials and resources needed for appropriate implementation of curricular programs.
  6. Collaborate with other coaches to share and discuss building/district-wide initiatives while addressing short and long term goals within the coaching role.
  7. Analyze achievement data and discusses curricular programs and instructional strategies in order to ensure the fidelity of programming and the school's current improvement plan.
  8. Lead and assist in writing grant proposals to further opportunities for student and staff growth.

Certificate/License: Indiana Teaching License required. Early Literacy Endorsement preferred.
Education: Bachelor's degree required.
