Average Rate: $40.00/hour - includes: Tax, Commission, & Tips (this is an average rate and is not guaranteed) | Part-Time | Flexible Schedule needed
Job Purpose or Objective(s): The Hair Stylist provides professional beauty services, such as shampooing, cutting, coloring, and styling hair, and massaging and treating scalp for guests of the casino resort and the local community while following required protocols and State license guidelines. May also apply makeup, dress wigs, and perform hair removal. You will report to the Spa Supervisor.
Primary Tasks:
1. You will cut, trim and shape hair or hairpieces, based on customers' instructions, hair type and facial features, using clippers, scissors, trimmers and razors.
2. Shampoo, rinse, condition and dry hair and scalp or hairpieces with water, liquid soap, or other solutions.
3. Apply water, setting, straightening or waving solutions to hair and use curlers, rollers, hot combs and curling irons to press and curl hair.
4. Bleach, dye, or tint hair, using applicator or brush.
5. You will analyze patron's hair and other physical features to determine and recommend beauty treatment, suggest hairstyles, and help recommend and sell professional retail products as part of the service experience.
6. Complete Up-dos and other hair artistry services.
7. Keep workstations clean and sanitize tools such as scissors and combs.
8. Follow all state regulations and laws by the state, county, city/town.
9. Participate in ongoing training, both state required and job specific.
10. Perform other tasks as assigned.
Requirements:
• Maintain a current Cosmetology license in the state of Oklahoma
• Knowledge of the chemical composition, structure, properties of substances and chemical processes and transformations
• Advanced knowledge of chemical interactions, danger signs, production techniques, and disposal methods
• Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services
• Ability to assess customer needs, meet quality standards for services, and evaluate customer satisfaction
• Strong interpersonal skills and communication skills
• Tactful in ensuring the privacy of each guest
• Two (2) years' experience as a licensed hair stylist
