Job description

COMMERCIAL CLEANERS NEEDED — 2 Openings (Weekly Store Clean + Monthly Window Washing) — Skokie, IL

Location: 4905 Old Orchard Ctr., Skokie, IL 60077 (Old Orchard shopping center). Full store details shared once you're confirmed.

ABOUT THE ROLE

North Co Commercial Cleaning is hiring two cleaners for a national home goods retailer's store at Old Orchard. This is steady, recurring work — the same store, the same day, every time. Two separate openings:

1) STORE CLEANER — Weekly

- Pay: $60 flat per visit

- Time on site: about 1–1.5 hours solo (could be a little less or a little more depending on experience and getting a system down after the first couple visits)

- Effective hourly: roughly $40–$60/hr

- Recurring weekly — starts Monday, August 17, 9:00 AM, then the same day each week

- Scope: dust and wipe fixtures, shelving, counters, sills, and vents; spot clean doors, glass, and walls; vacuum carpet/rugs; dry and damp mop floors; clean and restock the restroom; empty trash and replace liners

2) WINDOW CLEANER — Monthly

- Pay: $70 flat per visit

- Time on site: about 45 min–1 hour solo (could be a little less or a little more depending on experience and getting a system down after the first couple visits)

- Effective hourly: roughly $70–$95/hr

- Recurring monthly — starts Monday, August 17, 9:00 AM, then the same day each month

- Scope: interior and exterior storefront window cleaning — entry door glass in and out, squeegee and detail all edges and corners, wipe sills and ledges dry

Apply for the spot you want — or say you're open to either.

SEMI-ANNUAL DEEP CLEAN (both hires together)

- Tuesday, September 8, 8:00 AM

- Pay: $80 per person for that visit

- Time on site: about 1.5–2 hours per person (could be a little less or a little more depending on experience and getting a system down)

- Effective hourly: roughly $40–$55/hr

- Happens twice a year — both cleaners work it together as an extra paid visit.

BACKUP COVERAGE

Each hire is the other's backup. If you cover the other person's service, you get that service's pay for the visit — extra paid visits when they come up.

RELIABILITY — READ THIS

This client runs on consistency. Same day, every week/month. If anything ever needs to change, we need 48 hours' notice so we can tell the store. No-shows are the one thing that ends this relationship — if you can't make a visit, you tell us ahead of time, always.

PAY DETAILS

- Flat rate per visit, paid per service.

- Check in and out through a link, with before/after photos and videos each visit — that's how payment gets confirmed.

- Pay averages 24–48 hours after the job is completed to manager satisfaction.

- Parking: reimbursed only with a receipt showing date, time in, time out, place, and total.

REQUIREMENTS

- Must be 21 or older

- Reliable personal transportation (rideshare/transit doesn't qualify)

- Window Cleaner role: must have real experience cleaning windows with a scrubber and squeegee

- Store Cleaner role: prior cleaning experience; window skills a plus (backup value)

- Comfortable completing a standard onboarding screening

- Smartphone for check-in, photos, and communication

SUPPLIES

The client provides restroom/breakroom consumables. North Co provides all chemicals and equipment — but if you bring your own, you get a per-visit bonus: +$10 store clean, +$5 windows, +$15 both. When you apply, tell us what you have — all, some, or none is fine.

Store clean: vacuum, mop and bucket (or flat mop with pads), broom/dustpan or dust mop, all-purpose cleaner, disinfectant, glass cleaner, microfiber cloths, dusting tool, restroom cleaner, scrub brush.

Windows: window scrubber/applicator, squeegee, glass solution, microfiber or scrim cloths, scraper/razor, bucket. Step stool or extension pole handy for tops of glass.

DRESS CODE

Slip-resistant shoes recommended (we can help with those if needed). Clean plain blue or black shirt until your branded shirt at 3 months. Jeans or non-athletic shorts — nothing ripped, no sweatpants. Hair tied back, arrive clean and presentable.

PHOTOS & CHECK-OUT

Before/after photos and videos every visit through your check-in link — non-negotiable, more is better. Full walkthrough with the store manager before you leave.
