CDL A Driver

$2,000 Sign On Bonus CDL A Driver OTR - Regional Ashland, VA CTDI is a large-scale Engineering, Repair, and Logistics company that services the country's largest wireless telecommunications providers, as well as the largest High-speed Internet & Cable providers. CTDI has over 11,000 FT US Employees in over 60 world class US Operations. CTDI also has a global footprint with more than 20,000 employees worldwide.

In this role, you will provide services to the world's largest telecommunications and cable providers. A CDL Class A Driver is responsible for operating commercial vehicles with a Class A driver's license.

Duties and Responsibilities Class A Truck Driver

  • Inspects the truck pre- and post-trip.
  • Accurately complete vehicle inspection sheets, fuel consumption logs, daily log sheets, bills of lading, vehicle trip records, and expense reports.
  • Ensures all cargo is loaded, checked, and safely secured during transit.
  • Assists with or oversees loading and unloading of cargo to ensure secure transit.
  • Acquires all proper signatures on shipping/receiving documents.
  • Monitors the maintenance and repair of the truck.
  • Provide excellent customer service by communicating professionally and representing the company positively.
  • Responsible for following all Federal and State DOT regulations as well as warehouse safety regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Requires a commercial driver's license (Class A CDL) and appropriate endorsements.
  • Must be able to obtain a DOT medical card and maintain a complete US DOT driver qualification file.
  • 2+ years recent commercial delivery-driving experience.
  • Valid state-issued driver's license, with a clean driving record.
  • Capacity to demonstrate reliability, adaptability, and dependability.
  • Good hand-eye coordination.
  • Thoroughness and attention to detail in task completion.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Previous experience working in a high-volume distribution, manufacturing, technical service (i.e. testing and repair) or forward logistics operation a plus.
  • Strong commitment to customer service.
  • Possess specialized skills for managing hazardous materials.

Educational Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Physical Demands and Working Conditions

  • The ability to lift, push and/or pull up to 85 lbs., if necessary.
  • Flexible shifts with the capability to undertake overnight trips 1-2 nights per week.
  • Comfortable sitting for extended periods.
