Gray Line Tennessee is Nashville's Leader in Transportation with over 200 vehicles in the fleet and nearly 400 employees dedicated to providing safe, authentic, and professional transportation services. We currently operate five distinct businesses, all of which are oriented toward safety, quality, and customer service.

Position Summary
The Human Resources Generalist - Employee Relations & Compliance serves as the primary resource for employee relations, leave administration, workplace investigations, and employment law compliance for a multi-division transportation and hospitality company with approximately 300 employees. This position partners with leaders across Charter, School Bus, Sightseeing, Maintenance, and administrative departments to foster a positive workplace while ensuring compliance with employment laws and company policies. The position reports directly to the CEO and works closely with the Human Resources Generalist - Operations & Talent Acquisition.

Gray Line Tennessee operates Charter Transportation, School Bus Transportation, Sightseeing & Tourism, Fleet Maintenance, and Corporate Administration. HR supports approximately 300 employees, including CDL drivers, mechanics, operations staff, dispatchers, tour personnel, and office employees.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
โ€ข Serve as the primary contact for employee relations matters and workplace concerns.
โ€ข Conduct workplace investigations and prepare recommendations.
โ€ข Advise managers on coaching, corrective action, and performance management.
โ€ข Administer ADA accommodations and coordinate the interactive process.
โ€ข Administer FMLA and other protected leave programs.
โ€ข Manage workers' compensation claims and return-to-work processes.
โ€ข Coordinate unemployment claims and hearings.
โ€ข Maintain personnel files, I-9s, and employment compliance records.
โ€ข Support payroll processing and respond to employee payroll questions.
โ€ข Conduct new hire orientation and assist with onboarding.
โ€ข Partner on recruiting activities across all divisions.
โ€ข Promote a culture focused on safety, compliance, and employee engagement.
โ€ข Cross-train with the HR Generalist - Operations & Talent Acquisition.
Preferred Qualifications
โ€ข Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
โ€ข 2-4 years of Human Resources experience.
โ€ข Experience with employee relations, ADA, FMLA, workers' compensation, and compliance.
โ€ข Experience supporting transportation, logistics, hospitality, or other multi-site operations preferred.
โ€ข Knowledge of DOT, FMCSA, and safety-sensitive workplace regulations is a plus.
โ€ข Experience supporting CDL drivers or regulated employees preferred.
โ€ข SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification preferred.
