Job Title: Krav Maga/Martial Arts Instructor
Location: Middletown, DE
Job Type: Part-time
Reports To: Program Director / Head Instructor
Position Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Martial Arts Instructor to lead engaging, high-energy classes that focus on self-defense, discipline, fitness, and personal growth. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in martial arts (Krav Maga a plus), a passion for teaching, and the ability to motivate students of all ages and skill levels in a safe and respectful environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Instruct students in techniques, including striking, grappling, weapon defense, situational awareness, and stress drills
Plan and lead classes appropriate to skill level (beginner, intermediate, advanced)
Monitor and assess individual student progress, providing constructive feedback and guidance
Ensure the physical safety of all students during class activities
Promote discipline, confidence, respect, and self-control in and out of class
Prepare students for rank advancement and/or real-world self-defense scenarios
Maintain class attendance records and progress reports
Stay current with evolving training methodologies, safety practices, and Krav Maga developments
Represent the school/organization professionally at events, demos, or seminars
Assist with marketing, student retention, and school growth initiatives
Qualifications:
Prior teaching/instructional experience preferred
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Certified Krav Maga instructor or equivalent martial arts certification preferred, but not required.
CPR/First Aid certified (or willingness to obtain)
Physically fit and able to demonstrate techniques accurately
Background check required
Preferred Skills (not mandatory):
Experience working with children, teens, and/or women’s self-defense classes
Military or law enforcement background a plus
Experience in other martial arts (Muay Thai, BJJ, Boxing, etc.)
