Private Wealth Management (PWM)

Goldman Sachs Private Wealth Management (PWM) specializes in creating comprehensive wealth management plans for ultra-high net worth individuals and families, as well as select institutions, including foundations and endowments. PWM Teams work one-on-one with clients to advise and deliver customized strategies drawn from our deep investment experience, diverse wealth management capabilities and global reach. Our Private Wealth Advisors (PWAs) deliver an unparalleled investment platform inclusive of the full product and service offerings of Goldman Sachs and beyond, which may include tax and estate planning, philanthropic planning and private banking and lending services. As client needs evolve, this close relationship allows the team to offer complementary services and new opportunities by leveraging the resources of Goldman Sachs and beyond.

Financial Investment Professionals (FIPs) will support Private Wealth Advisors (PWAs) in the day-to-day coverage of existing client relationships. Responsibilities will include portfolio construction and implementation, ongoing asset allocation and performance analyses, and ad-hoc items tied to client requests.  This is meant to be a longer-term role where you will work closely with PWAs to provide scale and leverage for their existing business while they continue to pursue new client relationships over time.

HOW YOU WILL FULFILL YOUR POTENTIAL

  • Act as the 'Chief Investment Officer' of the PWM team, exhibiting expertise across asset classes and investment vehicles
  • Develop relationships with clients and act as the primary point of contact for account related questions
  • Conduct client-facing analyses for client portfolios, spanning strategic and tactical asset allocation as well as portfolio risk / return
  • Assist in the day-to-day management of client accounts, including portfolio implementation and re-balancing across asset classes
  • Serve as a key liaison for client accounts to internal PWM stakeholders, including Operations and Compliance
  • Lead or participate in cross-functional group projects to improve quality and efficiency within the PWM team
  • Execute equity, fixed income, mutual fund, and derivatives transactions across client accounts
  • Monitor macroeconomic trends and internal research publications, considering their potential impact on client portfolios
  • Drive team efficiency by streamlining operations flows, strategic business planning, and support / service infrastructure

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Bachelor's degree required (CPA, JD, or MBA degrees welcome)
  • 5+ years of investment management, investment banking or comparable experience
  • Strong leadership skills and record of demonstrated achievement
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and think clearly under pressure
  • Strong interest in the financial markets and good investment sense/commercial instinct
  • Ability to multi-task and work with numerous colleagues and desks across the Firm
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Detailed-oriented and highly organized
  • Strong financial modeling and presentation skills
  • SIE, Series 3, 7 and 63 (must be obtained within three months of employment)
    • Obtaining CFA Charter and/or CFP highly encouraged and will be sponsored in accordance with firm policy
