Supervise hourly employees. Must be capable of training, motivating and organizing work force. Must have technical skills to provide guidance and direction for continual improvement projects. Responsible for the safety, quality and efficiency of assigned processes. Complete daily production reports and maintain Daily Management System communication boards located in production areas. Accountable for the proper logging and tracking of material consumed on assigned production operations. Must be capable of working any shift in support of the production plan.
General Profile
  • Working supervisor of a team (spends a portion of time performing the work supervised) or supervises the daily activities of production team members
  • Must have one or more of any direct report type
  • Analyses information to solve on-going problems and implements procedures and approaches to complete work
  • Responsible for results of the team
  • Provides direction to team using extensive knowledge of established precedents and practices
  • Consistent exercise of discretion & judgment

  • Supervises production operations for assigned units or during an assigned shift.
  • Supervises workers that operate production machinery, assemble items, perform quality control, or package goods for shipment.
  • Notifies maintenance or engineering departments when equipment requires maintenance or repair.
  • Monitors output of assigned area(s) against established schedules or quality goals. Coordinates the flow of work through the department and ensures that department has sufficient levels of inventory to meet demand and is staffed appropriately.
  • Leads and directs the work of other employees and has some responsibility for personnel actions related to hiring, performance, and disciplinary actions with concurrence from the HR Directors & General Managers.

      • Required education and experience: Associate's Degree and 3-5 years' experience OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/or Experience
      • Critical professional related technical skills; computer skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

      • Preferred education and experience: Bachelor's Degree
      • Discipline/Major: Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations or Business degree preferred
      • Knowledge, skills & abilities: Ability to work as part of a team. Decision-making skills. Problem/situation analysis. Project management skills. Planning skills.

      • Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.
      • Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities.
      • Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds.
      • May need to stand for long periods of time.
      • Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.
      • Work may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery.
      • May be requested to work a different shift.
      • This position is Safety-Sensitive.

      Up to 25% travel likely.
      $69,900 - $94,500
      The salary range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum for salary for this position. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, internal equity, and relevant education or training.
