Job Overview

We are seeking a Production Supervisor for Platinum Group Metal Services (PGMS) who will supervise production operations, ensuring safety compliance, efficient material processing, and optimal equipment utilisation.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure safety compliance for staff, plant personnel, visitors and contractors.
  • Direct, schedule and coordinate efficient processing of materials within production departments.
  • Maximise utilisation and efficiency of equipment and hourly personnel.
  • Implement Lean manufacturing principles.
  • Assist in estimating labour hours and reviewing new product introductions.
  • Initiate purchase requisitions for tools, materials, packaging and major equipment.
  • Maintain control, security and accountability for in‑process precious metal materials.
  • Schedule labour, including overtime and personnel transfers, to meet production deadlines.
  • Administer labour contracts and address grievances before escalation.
  • Approve and schedule vacation, leaves of absence and training programmes for the hourly workforce.
  • Recommend capital equipment purchases to increase capability or productivity.
  • Participate in the design of new or upgraded production equipment.
  • Perform regular equipment inspections to ensure safe operating conditions and prevent downtime.
  • Prepare detailed written reports as directed by the Production Manager.
  • Coordinate material flow to meet on‑time delivery and quality goals.
  • Conduct monthly safety meetings and enforce good housekeeping practices.
Qualifications
  • High‑school diploma or equivalent; engineering or technical degree preferred.
  • 1 to 3 years supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
