The Opportunity 

The Production Supervisor - Film will be the lead for their designated shift. Providing direction and leadership to their team as necessary. As the Production Supervisor you will be expect to accomplish manufacturing staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.

This role is Supervisor on Shift D - 6:30PM to 7:30 AM, Sunday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.

Essential Functions

• Supervises and directs operation to best meet production requirements.
• Responsible and accountable for the quality, efficiency, productivity and safety of the shift.
• Responsible and accountable for the overall productivity of the shift.
• Responsible and accountable to follow production schedule.
• Directly supervises the successful startup of first batches as necessary.
• Responsible and accountable for the enforcement of all company policies, SOPs, FDA regulations and cGMPs.
• Responsible and accountable for setting up the next shift to ensure a smooth shift change
• Audits equipment cleaning and  document in log books.
• Accurately audits completed batch records and makes necessary corrections.
• Recommends changes to batch records to reduce errors, improve efficiency, etc.
• Completes work orders as needed and records equipment problems which could not be corrected.
• Completes worker related accident forms.
• Performs and documents accident investigations as necessary.
• Records ideas for productivity improvements and other matters of importance and shares them with management as appropriate.
• Comprehensive knowledge of the department's paperwork including:
  • Which batch records are required for each operation
  • How each batch record must be filled out
• Has well established work habits that can be used to set an example for the workforce.
• Participates in hiring new employees for their shift.
• Performs and documents new employee training in a timely manner.  Selects relevant topics and performs and documents ongoing training.
• Evaluates individual job performance and recommends promotion, re-training or discipline as appropriate.
• Delegates work assignments to efficiently operate the shift.
• Assists in employee attendance record keeping (time cards, attendance sheets, etc.).                          
• Interacts and communicates with all shifts in a professional and productive manner.
• Interacts and communicates with other departments (Maintenance, Warehouse, etc.) in a professional and productive manner.
• Establishes a good working relationship between shifts. 
• Performs special assignments as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field (Operations Management, Engineering, etc.)
• Minimum of 3 years as a successful supervisor in a similar manufacturing environment.
• General Knowledge of the food manufacturing process.
• Basic math knowledge to include percent yields.
• Able to multi task and bring tasks to closure.
• Demonstrated mechanical skills.
• Demonstrated problem solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail skills.
• Must be a "hands-on" "team-player" leader who leads by example. Demonstrated leadership skills.

Typical Environmental Conditions

• Works in an assembly facility with air borne particles
• Works in an environment that can be warm and humid for extended periods of time.
