Job description

Job Summary:
The Quality Control Technician I will oversee quality control on bottling lines and inspect packaging materials under the guidance of the Quality Manager and Supervisor. This role ensures all packaging materials, wine types, and quality specifications align with the production schedule and relevant industry and government standards. The technician will work independently, adhere to operational procedures, and be flexible with work hours, including occasional weekends.
Reports to: QC Manager
Classification: Full-Time/Non-Exempt
Compensation: $22 - $24
Shift: Tuesday - Friday, 3:00 pm - 1:30 am
You Will:
  • Follow quality assurance plans and conduct hazard analyses.
  • Perform quality checks on dry goods and packaging materials.
  • Audit bottling lines and improve product quality through audits (product, company, system, compliance).
  • Validate product specifications and quality attributes, measure production levels and efficiencies.
  • Prepare reports, summaries, and maintain records.
  • Collaborate with QC and production teams to improve manufacturing and training methods.
  • Analyze finished goods, equipment, and work orders.
  • Identify equipment issues (e.g., calibration) and work with QC manager for resolution.
  • Create production work orders and inspect dry goods.
  • Enter data related to glass consumption.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

You Have:
  • Solid winery experience (e.g., QC/Production) preferred, with knowledge of wine and packaging analysis principles and practices.
  • Experience with ISO 9001 and Microsoft NAV is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Ability to create and enforce high standards.
  • Ability to multitask and shift priorities effectively.
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and research skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with the QC and production teams.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities with enthusiasm.

Physical Requirements and Demands:
  • Ability to reach, bend, stoop, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to carry up to 50 pounds over moderate distances.
  • Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods (8+ hours per day).
