Now Hiring: Site Superintendent – Hospitality Construction

Red Deer, Alberta

Salary 120K-140+K- Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Traugott Building Contractors is seeking a high-performing Site Superintendent with hotel and hospitality construction experience to lead an exciting hospitality renovation project in Red Deer, Alberta.

Preference will be given to candidates who reside in Red Deer or the surrounding Central Alberta region.

About the Opportunity

This is an excellent opportunity to join a respected and growing General Contractor known for delivering quality projects through strong leadership, collaboration, and accountability.

Working closely with the Project Manager, client, consultants, and trade partners, you will be responsible for leading all on-site operations while ensuring the project is delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all on-site construction activities from mobilization through project completion.
  • Foster a safe, organized, productive, and professional job site culture.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, inspectors, and client representatives.
  • Review and interpret construction drawings, specifications, schedules, and contract documents.
  • Participate in pre-construction planning, tender reviews, logistics planning, and project start-up activities.
  • Develop and maintain detailed construction schedules while proactively identifying and mitigating project risks.
  • Monitor project quality, productivity, costs, and schedule performance.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and ensure deficiencies are addressed promptly.
  • Lead site meetings and provide accurate progress reporting to the Project Manager.
  • Maintain project documentation using Procore (or similar construction management software).
  • Ensure compliance with Occupational Health & Safety legislation, company policies, and client requirements.
  • Promote a culture of teamwork, accountability, professionalism, and continuous improvement.

 

Qualifications

  • Minimum 7–10 years of Site Superintendent experience with a General Contractor.
  • Demonstrated hotel or hospitality construction and renovation experience is required.
  • Experience managing occupied facilities and phased renovations is considered a strong asset.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial construction methods, sequencing, scheduling, and quality control.
  • Proven ability to coordinate multiple trades while maintaining project momentum.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong organizational and planning abilities with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Experience using Procore or similar construction management software is an asset.
  • Valid driver's licence and reliable transportation.
