Description
JOB SUMMARY
The Project Manager is responsible for leading precast concrete projects from inception through completion, ensuring quality, efficiency, safety, and on-time delivery. This role collaborates closely with engineering, drafting, scheduling, operations, and client-facing teams to successfully execute projects and exceed customer expectations.
Key responsibilities include estimating project costs, procuring materials, developing and managing budgets, creating schedules, monitoring progress, and providing regular project reporting throughout the project lifecycle. The Project Manager oversees all phases of project execution, ensuring resources are effectively utilized while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
In addition, the Project Manager may provide leadership and guidance to Assistant Project Managers and Interns by assigning, coordinating, and monitoring project-related tasks. Success in this role is measured by the ability to deliver quality precast concrete products on schedule while maximizing production efficiency and operational performance. The Project Manager reports to the Senior Project Manager.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
โ€ข Preparing, maintaining, and sharing project progress reports and schedules
โ€ข Create and manage budgets throughout a project lifecycle and ensure cost efficiency
โ€ข Front end management of client relationships
โ€ข Coordinate and participate in weekly meetings with clients
โ€ข Manage outside material suppliers and coordinate production and deliveries of their scope.
โ€ข Update clients on schedule changes/logistics changes
โ€ข Coordinating with internal Operations Mgmt., Engineering, Drafting, QC, and Logistics to ensure timely production and delivery
โ€ข Manage drafting priorities and ensure timely submittals of calculations and shop drawings to ensure production/delivery schedules can remain on time
โ€ข Daily calls with clients to discuss priorities and updates to priorities or timelines
โ€ข Setting and managing client expectations
โ€ข Form and manage close working relationships with clients, particularly on long-term projects.
โ€ข Create and manage a project team on certain larger projects
โ€ข Problem solving, dealing with specific issues that arise within each project and finding efficient solutions for those issues
โ€ข Try to anticipate potential issues before they arise and mitigate issues on the front end.
โ€ข Manage changes and expansions to a project's scope
โ€ข Keep good records of any highlights or issues throughout the project in order to plan for similar issues on future projects
SKILLS & ABILITIES
โ€ข High school diploma or equivalent; BS in Construction Mgmt. or equivalent preferred
โ€ข Proficient in MS Office
โ€ข 5+ years as a Project Manager in the construction industry; fabrication or concrete experience preferred
โ€ข Demonstrated understanding of how effective planning, scheduling, client management and deadline adherence drive project success and overall business performance
โ€ข Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively work independently or with others
โ€ข Strong analytical, problem-solving, time management and organizational skills
โ€ข Ability to demonstrate leadership skills, including but not limited to, strategic thinking, decision making, emotional intelligence and adaptability
โ€ข Timeliness and ability to meet deadlines
โ€ข Strong understanding of construction materials, methods, and vendor/supplier networks
FUNCTIONAL REQUIREMENTS
This position requires constant (70-100%) use hands to finger, hearing (listening) and observing (vision), hand/eye coordination, walking and sitting. Requires occasional (40-69%) lifting up to 50lbs, pushing, pulling, climbing, balancing, bending, twisting, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, handling and feeling. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, peripheral vision and ability to adjust & focus. Employee shall be able to be medically qualified by a NON-DOT or other job specific physical.
