THE POSITION:

Responsible for proper and safe operation of all winders, glue machines, folder/stackers, conveyors, tapers; packaging, finished goods and scrap. Responsible for maintaining scrap reduction, housekeeping and quality standards. Understands and conducts assigned duties in a safe manner.

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:

  • Follows all Company policies regarding safety, quality and attendance.
  • Competent in reading and understanding a Traveler.
  • Conducts regular visual Quality Checks, as permitted per Line performance and/or Line/s speed.
  • Recognizes and reports non-conforming product to Operator, Quality Auditor, Team Lead or Production Supervisor immediately.
  • Assists Operator/s as needed throughout the Shift to enhance safety, quality, housekeeping and production.
  • Recognizes and ensures that all packaging, including Labels, Boxes, Cartons, Sleeves, Twist-Ties, Julian Date Code and Pallet Pattern conform to quality standards.
  • Maintains a neat and organized working station by meeting housekeeping standards as required by Plant.
  • Participates in the Safety 100 Program entry, as required.
  • Safely operates ALL equipment, including and not limited to; Winders, Carton Magazines, Glue Guns, Tapers, Pallet Lifters, Tie-Matic Machine, etc.
  • Reports any safety concerns, hazards or acts to Production Supervisor/Team Lead immediately.
  • Capable of attending multiple Lines based on bag count and Line speed, as deemed necessary by Management.
  • Participates in employee driven teams to address scrap, quality, safety or other production related issues.
  • Other duties may be assigned, as needed.
