Job description

Utz Quality Foods is looking to grow our loyal, career driven, and customer focused team and is currently recruiting for a Packer to work from our manufacturing facility located in Goodyear, AZ. The Packer is responsible for inspecting finished product prior to being bagged and then placing the bagged product in boxes/cases/displays. The Packer will assist in ensuring the plant environment meets food safety cleanliness objectives and operates according to established safety standards. This position works Monday - Friday from 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM.
Key Responsibilities

  • Inspects packaged items and alerts Machine Operator or Shift Supervisor of any problems.
    • Verifies package weight, code, dates, and price.
    • Examines packages for proper seal.
    • Reports any and all conditions that could lead to contaminated product.
  • Packs product into cartons, cans, and specialty containers.
  • Places carton, can or specialty container onto skid.
  • Responsible for training new packers.
  • Prepares items when "extra"
    • Labels boxes and barrels
    • Rework items.
    • Cleans work areas.
    • Gives breaks and lunches.
    • Picks chips in processing room as needed.
  • Performs Sanitation duties every Friday
    • Disassembles packaging machines, clean, and reassemble
    • Use cleaning chemicals, brooms, air guns, other tools as needed
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Maintains an organized and sanitary work environment at all times.
