2027Summer Internship - Alternatives Investment Operations Intern

Internship positions are located at PIMCO’s Newport Beach, CA Headquarters or PIMCO’s New York City office .

You’re eligible to apply if you:

  • Pursuing an undergraduate degree
  • Must be able to begin full time employment from a PIMCO office between January 2028 - August 2028
  • Must be enrolled at a university during the Fall 202 7 semester (August 202 7 - December 202 7 )
  • Have a minimum 3.2 cumulative collegiate grade point average on a 4.0 scale (or the equivalent) at an accredited 4-year college or university
  • Are business proficient in English

As an Alternatives Investment Operations Intern, you will support the smooth operation of PIMCO’s alternatives business across relevant funds and accounts. Yo u will collaborate with key partners, including Portfolio Management, Legal, Compliance, Finance, and external service providers, to ensure the timely settlement and management of debt and private equity assets. You will also support transformative strategic initiatives that are being led by the team.

Al ternative Investment Operations Responsibilities:

Trade Support & Settlement: support trade execution, settlement, and lifecycle events for alternatives transactions across debt, private equity, real estate, and other non-traditional assets

Asset Onboarding & Data Integrity: assist with the setup, maintenance, and validation of alternative investment assets, legal entities, counterparty details , and related reference data to support accurate downstream processing

Cross-Functional Coordination: collaborate with Portfolio Management, Legal, Compliance, Finance, custodians, trustees, administrators, and other internal and external partners to resolve operational issues and support timely execution

Process Improvement & Controls: contribute to initiatives that improve operational efficiency, strengthen controls, reduce risk, and enhance the scalability of PIMCO’s alternatives platform

PIMCO follows a total compensation approach when rewarding employees which includes a base salary and a discretionary bonus. Base salary is the fixed component of compensation that is determined by core job responsibilities, relevant experience, internal level, and market factors. The discretionary bonus is used to award performance and therefore is determined by company, business, team, and individual performance.
