We are looking for a Procurement Manager, Packaging to join the Scotts Miracle-Gro Supply Chain team !

Brief overview of the role:
This position is responsible for the strategic procurement of flexible packaging components to support multiple internal and third party manufacturing locations throughout North America and Canada

In this role you will get to:
Create and implement comprehensive procurement strategies for flexible materials covering market trends, supply assurance, quality improvement, supplier development, sustainability, and financial & supply risk mitigation
Effectively manage relationships with manufacturing facilities
Develop and implement cost savings projects and financial forecasting
Negotiate and execute contractual agreements in accordance to established company policies and procedures
Ensure compliance related process and procedures are uncompromised
Develop disruption mapping and mitigation strategies
Foster and maintain supplier relationships
Lead supplier selection and development process while working with cross-functional teams like R&D, Marketing, Quality etc. to develop innovative products across the SMG Brands
Ensure suppliers are following Scotts sustainability guidelines and implementing required actions
Lead evaluation of supplier capabilities, cost structure, risks, and partnership potential to determine supply base
This role has one remote direct report and the candidate will be responsible for the development and growth of this individual.
Travel as required (Domestic & International)

The perfect candidate will have:

Bachelor's degree focused in Supply Chain Management, Packaging, Procurement, Accounting/Finance, Economics, or Business Administration. Master's degree preferred
Minimum 4 years experience within Procurement, Sourcing or Purchasing
Ability to coordinate and organize numerous material requirements for multiple plants and contract manufacturing facilities simultaneously, while effectively sourcing suppliers and negotiating contracts for targeted materials
Ability to effectively navigate in a regulated industry
Knowledge of technical language of R&D (and often the vendors) and the business language of the Brands and Purchasing
Strong computer skills (SAP, SAP/PLM, MS office programs)

The starting budgeted pay range for this role will generally fall between $125,000.00 - $147,100.00 per year. Scotts will consider various factors in determining the actual pay including your skills, qualifications, experience, and geographical location.In addition to the determined base salary, this role is also incentive eligible under our corporate bonus programs.For remote roles where the final candidate resides in Alaska, California, Colorado, Illinois, New York, Oregon or Washington, state required pay thresholds will be factored into base salary.
