Job description

Position Overview:

The Production Manager is responsible for providing leadership and direction within the Manufacturing Department. This role oversees production operations, product quality, safety, cost controls, and performance metrics across all manufacturing lines. The Production Manager also supervises Production Supervisors and plays an active role in staffing decisions, including hiring, corrective actions, and terminations. This position requires regular exercise of discretion and independent judgment.


Responsibilities:

•Coordinate production schedules and related activities with all departments, including Preventive Maintenance (PM) and Sanitation. 

•Meet or exceed established production standards and KPIs. 

•Support new product development, testing, and product launches. 

•Ensure adherence to product formulations and specifications. 

•Manage and control costs related to labor, raw materials, packaging, and waste. 

•Participate in continuous improvement and operator training initiatives.

•Provide daily leadership, coaching, and development for Production Supervisors. 

•Make recommendations regarding hiring, corrective action, and terminations. 

•Foster effective communication across all levels of the organization. 

•Promote a positive and productive work environment.

•Enforce compliance with GMP, OSHA, HACCP, and company policies. 

•Maintain high product quality and safety standards. 

•Ensure accurate completion and review of production documentation and logs.

•Maintain high standards of sanitation and housekeeping across production areas. 

•Participate in the implementation, review, and maintenance of HACCP programs. 

•Coordinate with the Sanitation Department on sanitation activities and projects. 

•Ensure continuous readiness for AIB and other audits.



    Requirements:

    •Minimum of 5 years of production leadership experience, in a food manufacturing environment

    •Strong leadership, communication, problem solving, and decision making skills. 

    •Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environment. 

    •Demonstrated knowledge of GMP, HACCP, and regulatory requirements.

    Work Environment: 

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to a general office environment where the noise level is usually moderate. As part of the job requirements employee may be exposed to work in a production setting and cold temperature (-20 degrees) at times.
