Job description

JOB TITLE

PE System AM

WHAT YOU WILL DO

ย ย  ย Understand program sourcing and key milestone in support of launch.
ย ย  ย Identify potential suppliers, analyze capabilities, determine price, and select suppliers with Engineering and/or other relevant teams.
ย ย  ย Select, develop, and manage supply base of assigned commodities by:
-ย ย  ย Preparing and owning RFI's, RFP's and RFQ's for multi-year full production volume
-ย ย  ย Preparing bid packages, performing bidder conference, analyzing, evaluating proposals, negotiating with, and recommending suppliers, and administering resulting contracts
-ย ย  ย Negotiating long term agreements and maintaining best-in-class pricing
-ย ย  ย Leading cost reduction activities
ย ย  ย Develop all assigned commodities with sourced supplier meeting all required specification and timing.
ย ย  ย Evaluate and provide guidance on final selection of suppliers. Assess supplier core competencies and cost competitiveness using HKMC and industry "should-cost" models.ย 
ย ย  ย Direct, manage and guide suppliers from "cradle to grave" through HMG's established Parts Development process and activities.
ย ย  ย Develop and achieve target quality level at each milestone from development phase leading to mass production and establish improvement plans/countermeasures for problematic parts/suppliers or any relevant issues that impact Quality and Delivery.
ย ย  ย Drive flawless launches at assigned supplier sites, collaborating with cross functional teams through adherence to ISIR (PPAP), proactively detecting and promptly responding to any significant issues related to delivery, cost, and quality.
ย ย  ย Hold effective working-level meetings with suppliers/partners for fast issue closure and relationship development.
ย ย  ย Continuously negotiate with suppliers for the best-in-class piece price and tooling cost to achieve target vehicle cost.
ย ย  ย Develop purchasing strategies with Engineering, Quality, Production, and other relevant teams.

Other Responsibilities

ย ย  ย Monitor and support preventing disruptions in supply chain to avoid impact to HMGMA.
ย ย  ย Work collaboratively with Engineering (R&D), Quality, and Production Planners.
ย ย  ย Plan, organize and disseminate information related to production/potential suppliers.
ย ย  ย Maintain up-to-date supply base information database.
ย ย  ย Hire, develop, train, and manage a number of buyers.
ย ย  ย Meet all other requirements as assigned.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ROLE

Required:
ย ย  ย Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Management, Supply Chain, Finance or Accounting or related field from accredited university
ย ย  ย High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites, especially Excel and PowerPoint, required

Preferred:
ย ย  ย Intermediate - Minimum 5 years of related job experienceย 
ย ย  ย Years of experience EV Motor/Inverter/Battery (Min 5 Years) from Automotive industry in Purchasing, APQP, PPAP, Supplier Development/Engineering, Launch, Program Management, or related fields strongly preferred.
ย ย  ย Experience in manufacturing process including, but not limited to, injection molding, press, stamping, die casting, welding, assembly, paint, chroming and other surface treatments, foaming, SMC, extrusion, SMT, various raw materials, and more.ย 
ย ย  ย Experience from OEM or major commodity suppliers strongly preferred.
ย ย  ย Experience in understanding, analyzing, and breaking down piece price.
ย ย  ย Bilingual preferred - Ability to read, write, and speak any two combinations of English, Korean, and/or Spanish fluently.
ย ย  ย Multicultural - Openness to embrace and work with different sets of cultural values.
ย ย  ย Willingness to learn and adapt.
ย ย  ย Flexibility in working hours to include weekends, holidays, and off shifts.
