Job description

Line Operator – Job Requirements

Temp-to-Hire Opportunity

We are currently hiring Line Operators to fill multiple positions throughout our manufacturing facility. This role involves working at various stations along the production line, and employees will be cross-trained in all line functions. No previous experience is required.
This is not a CNC Machine Operator or traditional assembly line position. The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-focused, and able to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities
  • Work at various production stations throughout the manufacturing line.
  • Perform stack and strap duties and quality control inspections during initial training.
  • Learn all production line functions through cross-training.
  • Operate a sit-down forklift after completing company-provided certification.
  • Follow all company safety procedures and quality standards.
  • Maintain attention to detail while performing multiple tasks.

Requirements
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.
  • Ability to stand and walk for the entire 12-hour shift, except during scheduled breaks.
  • Must be willing to work either day or night shift based on business needs.
  • Must be available to work overtime and paid holidays when required.
  • Flexibility is essential, as shift assignments may change based on production demands.

Schedule
Day Shift: 6:45 AM – 7:00 PM
 Night Shift: 6:45 PM – 7:00 AM

Employees work a 2-2-3 rotating schedule:
Week 1
  • Work Monday & Tuesday
  • Off Wednesday & Thursday
  • Work Friday, Saturday & Sunday
Week 2
  • Off Monday & Tuesday
  • Work Wednesday & Thursday
  • Off Friday, Saturday & Sunday

During each two-week cycle, employees work 84 hours, with 20 hours paid at overtime (time and one-half).
Pay & Benefits
  • Starting pay: $19.50 per hour
  • After 720 hours worked, pay increases to $23.73 per hour
  • Paid Time Off accrued in accordance with Illinois law
  • Eleven paid holidays
  • Holiday hours worked are paid at time and one-half, in addition to holiday pay
  • Excellent opportunities for advancement through internal promotion

Work Environment
  • Safety is a top priority, and all employees are expected to follow company safety procedures.
  • Previous experience in safety-conscious environments (manufacturing, warehouse, food service, etc.) is a plus.
  • Employees must provide their own steel-toe boots.
  • Full-length pants are required; sleeveless shirts are permitted.
  • The manufacturing environment can become hot and humid. Cooling measures, including fans and hydration stations, are provided, but candidates must be comfortable working in these conditions.

Pre-Employment Requirements
  • Successful completion of a background check.
  • Successful completion of a drug screen.
  • Candidates will complete all required safety and new-hire orientation before beginning work.
