Job description

$16.80 - $20.50 PER HOUR

GENERAL PURPOSE:

The purpose of this position is to maintain quality standards and product levels for the kitchen. This person will be assisting the chefs with preparing food for the kitchen, including cooking, frying, and preparing various food items from recipes, as well as ensuring all food is held at a safe temperature. This person will also be responsible for receiving and stocking products and providing exceptional customer service.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Follows established departmental and store policies and procedures
  • Ensures the quality and freshness of all products and services the Kitchen provides
  • Ensures the Kitchen is cleaned and sanitized daily and meets the company standards for appearance
  • Responsible for maintaining the appropriate product assortment and inventory levels for the Kitchen
  • Confirms pricing accuracy and signage for all products, paying particular attention to ad items
  • Delivers excellent customer service to all customers
  • Cooks and fries all hot foods for the Kitchen
  • Weighs, measures, and mixes ingredients according to recipes using various kitchen utensils and equipment
  • Prepares all pizza items following Harmons’ recipes including assembling pizzas for the take-and-bake section and baking pizzas for the hot case in applicable stores, as directed by the Kitchen department
  • Use a variety of manual and automated kitchen equipment to cook, measure, mix, wash, peel, cut, slice, or shred meats, fruits, vegetables, and other products/ingredients 
  • Assembles and packages to-go soups, salads, dips and sandwiches, as well as packaging other chef prepared items
  • Preparing sauces for use in recipes of wok bar items 
  • Documents food safety temperatures using the food safety log system
  • Assists in cleaning and maintaining the dishes and the dish room cleanliness
  • Helps check food loads in and ensures proper storing of these items, including receiving and stocking product
  • Assists as needed to ensure the success of the Kitchen as a whole

Work is generally performed in a safe and comfortable store environment with the possibility of frequent exposure to hot, cold, slippery, and wet conditions. While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to grasp, push, pull, carry, stoop, twist, crouch, and reach; perform tasks requiring repetitive motion and eye, hand, and foot coordination; hear and respond to customer inquiries. Also requires standing, walking and bending throughout the entire workday and the ability to maneuver heavy objects weighing up to 50 pounds from location to location.
