Job description

Discipline Description:
Responsible for all or a major portion of manufacturing operations within a facility. Manages production operations such as shop floor management and flow disruption management, scheduling, and personnel. Manages and supervises the work of manufacturing production activities within operations. Performs professional or management work regularly across multiple manufacturing areas. Includes functions and activities that cannot be accredited to a defined Operation discipline. 
Orchestrate activities within production to meet production goals, quality, and cost objectives to include supervision of exempt and nonexempt associates pertaining to production, assembly, subassembly, shipping, or fabrication operations; by performing the following duties.
Organization Level:
    Reporting to a Sr. Manager, manages team of primarily entry and intermediate professionals or team leaders of Technical / Business Support / Quality or Production / Maintenance employees, with flexibility to determine how assignments are completed (e.g., objectives and approaches to completing work).
    Problems faced are difficult, but typically not complex.
    Explains policies, practices, and procedures.
    Sets day-to-day goals and objectives for team members.
    Explains and enforces policies, practices, and procedures.
Job Responsibilities
    Ensure safety and environmental policies are followed and maintained in the operation.
    Use sound judgment to ensure the end customer is satisfied.
    Plans and executes scheduling for production line(s) to meet production schedules while challenging teams to achieve higher results utilizing the company's operational systems. 
    Manage all personnel and sequencing functions for production line(s), ensuring inbound and outbound teams have the support they need to run an efficient operation and maximize productivity.
    Reviews and prioritizes production schedules based on product introduction, efficiency, materials supply, and personnel resources; assigns associates to maximize production objectives, maintain quality and attain output requirements. 
    Ensures all quality related items for Production line(s), are complete and documented to meet established quality standards.
    Leads cost reduction and process improvement in multiple cells or a complex cell to ensure efficiency of operations and cost effectiveness.
    Spearheads activities for materials and logistics problem resolution for multiple cells or a complex cell to ensure availability of materials and smooth operation. 
    Participates in establishing and modifying operational methods and processes by recommending changes in materials, equipment, and procedures.
    Formalize and implement best practices utilizing Vontier lean manufacturing methodology. (VBS) 
    Develops schedules and personnel requirements for assigned areas; maintains a variety of reports, records, and production documentation to reflect schedules, performance, methods, and other manufacturing aspects. 
    Fulfills supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's guidelines, procedures, and policies plus applicable laws. Responsibilities include, interviewing, hiring, and training associates; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining associates; addressing complaints and resolving problems with the support of HR.
    Take the lead to provide analytical support to the business / team, to support root cause analysis on defined issues leveraging resources as needed.
    Support overall timekeeping and attendance tracking, ensuring systems are accurate and updated. 
    Ensures compliance with company policy / procedures / work rules / employment contracts as required.
 

Competencies

    Proven skills in developing people; coaching and shaping a high-performing team.
    Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principals and/or the Gilbarco Production System.
    Ability to develop / understand and utilize standard work processes and training matrices.
