This position is in Cargill's protein and salt business, where we provide wholesome, high-quality food products to a wide range of customers, from foodservice operators and grocery stores to manufacturers and exporters.

Job Purpose and Impact

We are seeking motivated individuals to join the Flexible Work Group at our Spruce Grove facility. This team plays a key role in enhancing plant flexibility and may be cross-trained across multiple departments.

Location: Spruce Grove, Alberta
Job Type: Flex
Compensation: $25.18 /hour
Shift available: Rotating shift only, schedule flexibility is a must

Key Accountabilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work in various production areas, including packing and production lines
  • Perform physically demanding, repetitive tasks in a fast-paced environment (standing for up to 10 hours)
  • Operate manufacturing equipment safely and efficiently
  • Understand and follow training materials, including Lockout/Tagout procedures
  • Understand and adhere to all safety rules and regulations.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Must be legally entitled to work for Cargill in Canada
  • Cargill requires that employees be a minimum of 18 years old
  • Ability to perform physical job duties which may include bending, lifting up to 60lbs, kneeling, climbing, crawling, and twisting safely, with or without a reasonable accommodation
  • Ability to work in elevated areas (4 feet and above)
  • Ability to work 40 hours per week, however is not guaranteed, as this is based on production demands, hours over 40 per week are considered overt-time
  • Ability to work in varied indoor and outdoor conditions which may include heat, cold, dust, loud noise, etc., with the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) 
  • Must be able to read/write English
  • Ability to work overtime including weekends, holidays and different shifts with advance notice
  • Previous forklift experience  

Preferred Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or Equivalent
  • Must be able to operate machinery and/or industrial equipment
  • Experience in production related work
  • Previous Warehouse experience
  • Basic computer skills
