Job description

The Supervisor of Production is responsible for directing and coordinating all production activities within assigned areas to ensure safety, quality, and productivity goals are met. This position leads production employees, oversees workflow, monitors performance, and ensures compliance with all company, regulatory, and food safety standards. The Supervisor of Production plays a key leadership role in driving efficiency and promoting a culture of teamwork and accountability.
Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise daily production operations to achieve schedule, quality, and output goals.
  • Monitor production lines to ensure compliance with company policies, GMP, and HACCP standards.
  • Train, coach, and evaluate production employees for performance and development.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of production data, including yields, downtime, and labor hours.
  • Collaborate with Quality Assurance and Maintenance departments to ensure consistent product quality.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety policies and procedures; promote a culture of safety awareness.
  • Oversee shift change communication to maintain continuity between teams.
  • Assist with workforce planning, scheduling, and staffing adjustments based on production needs.
  • Lead team meetings to communicate goals, updates, and improvement initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements
Required
  • Education: High school diploma or GED required; Process Technology (PTEC) certification/degree preferred and/or Associate or Bachelor's degree.
  • Math and reading skills
  • Minimum 3 years of supervisory or lead experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to manage diverse teams.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and manufacturing best practices.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proven ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Preferred:
  • Experience in food production or processing operations.
  • Working knowledge of ERP or production management systems.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
